Mountain Biking Portland?

I've heard rumors that there are a few ok trails running down through parks in portland. One near lewis and clark, a down through washington park. Anybody got any more info on trails in and around portland? I just got a specialized SX trail and would love to do some rides without driving an hour... Also what do people think of the spots around hood and blackrock park? I have done a lot of riding in colorado and southern utah but nothing out here yet. help a brother out

black rock is real sick, post canyon is rad, there are a few other spots but those are secretive. go to pinkbike.com in the forums there is a lot of stuff on where to go.

There are very few trails within portland that are even worth riding and the ones worth riding will stay secret, the closest trail for dh is scappoose which is being logged right now. Post canyon is a lot of fun b/c if offers both faster dh and some fr stuff all over, but you'll need two cars to get to the top and you should get a map before you head out there. Blackrock is also a good time, but it's abot 1 to 2 hrs to get there depending on where you leave from. The jumps out there are for all skill levels, but you'll be walking 3 miles to the top. There are a few trail systems in the works, but b/c of the worthless progressive hippy pieces of shit it takes a long time to get anything done legaly here in Oregon.

Well if anyone is riding any of the secret trails close to/in town and feels like showing a fellow rider some stuff let me know. With the exception of college in Colorado I have spent my entire life in this city and am not just another hipster who decided to move in because of all the trendy coffee shops. I ride the "secret" trails out of colorado springs, so I know what it means to keep the good ones off the map and I'm not unwilling to take a shovel out to perfect things.

Blackrock is the best around and a must ride at least once. its well worth the drive. Rocky Point is outside of scappoose..apparently it's being logged. I've never ridden the new trails but there were quite a few on other property but they had to be torn down. But now I see cars at the bottom of rocky point rd all the time so the new trails must be good.

there are a few behind yankton on bunker hill but good luck finding those. its way off highway 30 and not very obvious
