a buddy of mine wants to get a norco sasquatch 06 and it has 150 mm of travel we ride in barrie, ontario and it is xc jumps drops and urban...with the occasional downhill at blue... i think 150 will be to big and plush. anyone out there ridden / ride a hardtail with 150 on similar terrain.

o and hes 6'3 and 200 lbs

well nolan hopefully we'll go up to blue alot this summer. so it way be worth it. plus he's a big guy so maybe he needs it.

yea iam the guy that wants it and i think it will be fine but i want to make sure so it would be great to find out thanks!!

on the other hand, i've seen 25 foot drops done on 80mm of travel on hardtail. for urban and dirt jumps, less travel is the way to go, but longer travel is decent for freeride, trail riding, and downhill. If you are going to be riding a ton of street, or dirtjumps I would avoid all that suspension, you will have a harder time bunny hopping high, ( it took me like 2 weeks to do relearn when i put a bigger fork on my bike.) and your flow will get sucked up on jump trails.

hey, aren't you that kid who made that one salomon thread, and then got pwned saying dumb shit? that was sooo funny.

so true. If you ride any urban, size that fork down like 20mm. Its going to be increbily hard to get the bike off the ground during urban, but nice when your hitting drops.

you wont be able to get a bike that will ride well in xc and dowhill. should narrow what you do or even get 2 bikes.

where do u ride in barrie?

i just got a kona stuff and it is sweet it has 110mm and it is nice... and i used to ride dj downhill and urban on my garu fisher tassajara xc bike with 80 mm of blown out travel.... lets just say it was an upgrade

and we ride midhurst mostly but we go to barrie for urban like skatepark and downtown ish area .. you ride near by?

i have seen dirt jumps by blue and i just wanna no if its worth going d/h for half a day then dirt jumping..i live in T.O

blue is soooooooo worth it. no matter what you ride it'll be fun. we rode the hardest runs there and i had my gittery-ass 20 lb XC bike. it still ruled, can't wait til i get my 06 stuff tonight!!

do you litterally mean trials olike mini bike pgoing and shit or north shore style shit cause it was prety good of all of it but no ture trials shit

i ride a mountain cycle rumble with a 170 super t on it. LOVE it. i do EVERYTHING with it. XC, DH, freeride, urban, lite trials, all of it. oh, and i can bunny hop that bike approx. 3 ft. i had a dirt jumper on it, and the shitty dampening and huge weight had a more negative effect on the preformance than the travel. if your really concerned abut it, get a fork with adjustable travel. best of both worlds.

holy shit! i just got my 06 kona stuff with sun rim s-type 20mm and 2.5 maxxis minions (exact wheel from 06 stinky!). im soo happy. just thought i'd have to share that.

my friend has a norco ryde with a junior t and it has atleats 150mm of travel. its not that bad. he handles it fine and he only weighs 120 pounds

150 or 6 inches won't be a problem for him, or anyone riding xc,urban,Dj, and DH. For cross country you just adjust the pressure, making it stiffer. I ride 04 DJ II 130mm Fork, and I use it for everything xc, alot of urban, freeride, and DH. I'd like to put a bigger fork on, but the frame will break lol.

*What kind of for is it?

yessssssss. me and all my biking friends just started to build our dirt jump course, should be sick
