Hiked Washington Saturday in 90 mph winds, sleet, freezing rain, and no gear. Wore a sweatshirt and jeans. 4:15 hours up.

did you drive there without gear, planning to climb it or did you get there and go, "hm, maybe I'll climb it"

oh btw, this was a "i'm an idiot and even though the weather report was wrong, i still should have packed better" type of thread.

and we decided the day before to do it.

so you're saying that one day before you climbed it, the weather report said that it would be OK for no gear, jeans, and a t-shirt, but when you got there, the next day, there was 90mph wings, sleet, and rain?

dude you are an idiot. its mount washington for christ sakes. use some common sense.

when experienced hikers are telling us to go back down after they've come from lion's head, we still went. I may be an idiot but I still was able to summit it.

and I had no idea what it was going to be like, we just decided the day before to do it so you can suck a fat one.

are you really that stupid or are you just playing the paris hilton card??? ask any knowledgable EC skier/hiker etc and they'll tell you that what you did was absolutely stupid. give ya credit, you were lucky, but thats about it.

maybe, but alot of those people coming down couldn't handle it i guess. You can say lucky all you want, but five college kids in just sweatshirts, sneakers and street clothes did it altogether. All of us ended up fine. We just didn't want to say we pussied out on what it seems like your saying is a routinee day on Washington.

Obviously you didn't read my post before where i said "i'm an idiot but..."

ok so you just confirmed that you did not read a few posts before what you originally said.

you do realize that this type of thing is the beginning of a doomed, stupid life, right? You get this shit in your head, the whole "I'm no pussy, I can do shit like this" mentality and then you try more and more dumb shit and end up paralyzed or dead. Have fun with that.

or you take it as a learning experience and prepare better next time. I knew my limits, and I still could have gone further.

A

if you actually DO use this to learn for next time, than good for you. If your ego gets bigger and you continue on this path, you're in trouble. Those who are great may be courageous, but they certainly aren't wreckless.

I had fun doing it by the way. I want to try tuck's next spring. Definetly go prepared and whatnot and with people who have done it before. Always wanted to try it...

tucks is a good time, i have gone a few times, and there were a few slides because it had snowed the night before, scary shit

iv only been to the mount washington in BC, and I figured there was another.. but didint know for sure,
