mt snow was the absolute tits the other day.

i heard they're taking down a few rails and whatnot from long john and moving them over to its permanent home at the vermonster. call them up, they'll let ya know what the deal is

i went to both places last year....wasn't really impressed with killy...to much hype....snow is def better.....park....tress...everything

yep. snow is definitely the place to be this year.. saturday was tight except for the snow fans , but cant complain cause of early season. lookin at like 10rails/boxes, a hip/table, and a barrel at the bottom.. takin a bus to the main mountain is nice for the one run on North Face right now.. all sorts of nice bumps there.

i was there on sunday its a decent run but i thought it could have been better.

i think there were like 8 or so rails/boxes but they were sticky, might have just been my skis but my friend also said they were sticky for him too. also, i side enter a rail from the left side and lots of the rails boxes were kinda turned to the right so it was tougher to get onto them for me and i cant lipslide yet

the jump was mad nice probs like 25 ft or so, smooth and everything

they had awesome snow coverage and its a great time overall. that is my review of mt snows park as of sunday. also i think they're gonna have a whole different park with a bunch of jumps by either thanksgiving day or friday, check the website for sure

if they dont take out too much stuff from the turkey jam i think killy will be really nice, seems like many people on this site are biased against killy so i wouldnt believe everything a mt. snow is better

if you are more of a beginner i recommend mt. snow because looking from different edits the rails built better and are a little easier to get onto instead of the foot long step-up gap to get onto the flat rail at killy - but for more advanced killy also has the single barrel down bar and i don't think snow has one up - they both seem to have at least one little jump so it really depends on you where you want to stay and the price - killy also has some fun little barrels and a wallride

this was just sent to me from snow:

We made out very well today considering the forecast. Morning temperatures remained in the 20s, resulting in an inch of natural snowfall that midweek skiers and riders had fun playing in. Meanwhile our snowmakers got Long John/Deer Run open from the summit down to the base area – now also providing skiable connection between the Main Face and Carinthia. And with the Vermontster terrain park open and slowly building, everything is falling into place as we approach the Thanksgiving weekend.

Snowmaking will resume Thursday night after a couple of warm and wet midweek days. First we’ll resurface the open upper and lower mountain terrain. After that? Why, more expansion of course. But where oh where we can our fan guns do the most good for our wide array of guests?

- How about Stugger’s Chute, so there’s a nice wide cruiser at Carinthia from the Nitro lift or Heavy Metal double?

- What about another North Face run so we can offer a choice of black diamonds that are groomed or bumped up?

- Why not start blowing snow in the Gut Superpipe?

- And wouldn’t it be great to get the Jiblet mini-rail park on Mixing Bowl up and running, with its covered magic carpet lift, sound system and lights?

The good news is we don’t have to choose. Weekend temperatures are going to allow us to blow snow in ALL those areas. Yes, everyone is a winner at Mount Snow.

Tomorrow we’ll have 17 trails serviced by 5 lifts. With the forecast calling for occasional rain and temperatures in the mid-40s, groomers are staying off of Snowdance, Chute and the upper portion of Long John/Deer Run. Long John/Deer Run will be open for intermediate and advanced skiers only as a result. Regular midweek rates are now in effect. $63 for adults, $52 for young adults and $42 for juniors and seniors.

We have a lot special events lined up for the Thanksgiving weekend, including the annual Torchlight Parade and fireworks display on Saturday at 5:30 pm, followed by a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Friday also kicks off our season of great après-ski entertainment with two live bands at the Snow Barn, our own snow reporter Luke Stafford’s band, Amargosa opens for Tenet, and over at Harriman’s restaurant in the Grand Summit Hotel, kick back with some jazz and blues from New Orleans-expatriate Samirah Evans. Click the Beat Goes On logo on our mountsnow.com home page for a complete schedule.

Don't forget that our new traffic flow pattern gives you a great view of the mountain as you come in from the North Entrance. (That's the second entrance if you're heading north on Route 100.)

Have a great day!

this is ironic b/c last year they had an AWFUL year, they never really opened the big park...do they have a limit on snowmaking?

some of the rails are gone from the park at mt snow, such as the dub barrels, trap box, green box thinger, picnic table. they got moved dow to their future homes i think. also they've blown a lot...so whenever that's finnnished, i'm guessing this weekened?? should be ill

now ive lived on the east coast my whole life ad im goin to college in colorado. i cant understand why breck / keystone only have 2 trails open and snow has 17

actually snow has lots of steeps especialy ripcord which is prob steeper then anything at killington. they have ok glades on all four faces. especialy the one next to ripcord whitch is the steepest ive ever skied. Also has two HUUGGEEE wide trails, snowdance and south bowl. snowdance hase pipeline off them and i easily get 10 feet of air off them. his year their bigger cause the guns but yeah if you know where to look munt snow is awsome

i went to snow today and it was pretty sick there was nobody there..they have a bunch of rails/boxes set up,a hip, barrel, and 2 jumps on vermonster..they also have a few rails on the smaller parks like grommet or whatever its called..they were blowing snow on the pipe today i think they said it would be open by xmas at the latest..besides the park mount snow only has a few decent tree runs and thats about it..their trails arent very steep and theyre easy

havent been to mrg but jays trails r def harder.. i thought killington had some good trails but last time i went there was 2 yrs ago..

outer limits was so sick yesterday. Pow moguls all day. Some quality thigh burners. Also, all the tree skiing was amazing. Hopefully I can head up tomorrow

The plunge is sick but they should clean out alot of the little gay trees that are like 2 feet apart and 12 inch diamater that stuff sucks.

hardest trails? thats a toughy....i would def put MRG and Jay on the list maybe with some of mt snows glades. their glades on the north face can be super tight (just the way i like it) and id have to say the "ravine" at sugarbush between the main mtn and mt. ellen is fuckin sick as hell. thats all i can think of right now

id say the glades at killy are definitely steeper and tighter than the mount snow ones. The Plunge at mt snow is really steep and good, but its really short too. Julio, Anarchy, big dipper (parts), growler and centerpiece are all nasty glades at killington. Also lower ovation is just as steep as ripcord. But with that being said, I hear that stowe and smuggs have some really technical terrain, ive just never skiied it. Doesnt smuggs claim to have a triple black diamond?
