Game on. Snowmakers are reporting for duty at 11pm tonight - fan guns will run on Launchpad if Comments:You've waited long enough.

The National Weather Service says temps will drop into the mid 20s over the next two nights. And as we all learned in 2nd grade, that is below the freezing mark. Randy and the Miracle Makers are reporting for duty at 11pm tonight, and they will most likely fire up the fan guns on Launchpad in the wee hours of the morning.

And oh yes, we planned ahead. The mowing team has kept the grass on Launchpad buzzed short, so it won't take much snow to get 'er open. Remember last year, we opened a small terrain park on the Pad on October 29? We'll probably do that again.

Stay tuned in the coming days - winter is coming early.

-Luke forecasts hold.

ive been waiting all summer for this day!

i slept in the parking lot last night and it was plenty cold enough haha

kind of messed up that copy and paste

SO SICK

how much do tickets cost early season? how high up would the little park be? too far to hike without getting bitced at to go buy a ticket?

YAYYYYYYYi read that this morning and nearly shit my pantsi've been checking the site every daywe need the ground to freeze, then there will be skiing top to bottom and a sick consistent park on launch pad in the beginninggonna go pick up my pass soon

no the park isn't like near the lift, it's below the start of the liftthey still check tix but early season rates are cheap, i feel like i skied for 45 bucks last year on the 29th, i may be wrong

I know last year they just setup a little jibyard before the mountain actually opened for the season.

I'm assuming they will do that this year as well.

yes, that's right, when they opened the chair it was like 45 bucks. jebus it was only a year ago and i forget it already

yo it is 28 there right now...so i think that they're blowing...which is soo sick...because it is only a fortnight from the opening of mt snow...which will be the greatest day ever

if anything is set up it'll be 1 oe 2 box's and probably some other lil jib.

i wish i didnt have to work in 2 hours or else id def roll up

i think what they plan on doing is opening lauch pad with a mini jib park then blow the trails when ever they can

OH MY GOD THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

i should have realized that this would happen and i should have not stayed up late last night and i should have woken up early and gone and hit that...fuck

idk whats above that box but from the looks of it its flat box to tube jib to another flat box, im sure they'll blow again tonight as its supposed to be even colder and they get more features out there probabaly by next weekend

Comments:Here it is: the first snow report of the season. Snowmakers reported for duty last night and fired up the fan guns on Launch Pad just after midnight. They blew snow through daybreak and Gaitor and the Park Crew showed up around 8am, shovels in hand. It took some wheelbarrowing and strong backs, but they set up a rail, two boxes and two culvert jibs; a few dozen “in the know” lucky ducks showed up to be Mount Snow’s first skiers and riders of the season.

You missed it? No worries. We’re blowing more snow tonight and Launch Pad will be open to the public tomorrow, and then as long as the snow holds. See a Ranger and make sure you grab a lift ticket – they’re F-R-E-E, that spells free.

So let’s think about this. Today marked the last downhill race of our summer-long SoBe Energy mountain bike series. It was also the last day to play a round of golf at the Mount Snow Golf Club. Plus, skaters were hanging out in the Carinthia skate park. Historical: on October 19, 2008, a person could golf, skate, mountain bike, ski and ride, all in the same day at Mount Snow. We’re multitaskers.

After tonight’s mid 20s, it looks like we’ll have a few nights above the freezing mark. But after that, another spate of temps in the 20s is in store, so rest assured we’ll be blowing snow. We’ll keep Launch Pad open to the public as long as there’s enough snow to slide on, so keep a close eye on the snow report for updates.

It’s on.
