After hailing mount snow as my home, for longer than the twin tip ski has been available, Im over it. The resort was at its peak an estimated 3 years ago, wicked was shot there, freeskier jibfest went off, and further back than most of you know, the Xgames was pretty successful. Sure, there were plenty of shitheads running the show, but everything fell together.

Now, years past their hayday, the place is a shithole. Never to make a comeback, new owners and management obviously care nothing for a park, or a resort. With only a few familiar faces left (that are worth saying hi to), I realized that anyone with knowledge of the end, tucked their tail and ran.

Im gonna make a couple more runs this year, but it will be HATE skiing. like screwing an xgirlfriend, i feel i should demoralize my old stomping grounds, leave a few marks. I suggest yall do the same.

I wish i could go back to 04-05, and take a run with the whole crew. you know who you are.
 
I knew the place was plummeting two seasons ago, you couldve rode stratton all last year, and been in summit county this year.

I remember the days you talk about though, riding with everyone, and everyone was killing it. Newschool skiing has lost its way.

 
i wouldnt go that far, its just that mount snow isnt pulling it together like they used to. other mountains are still killing it while they are just not making the cut

the new owners wouldn't bother wasting their own money to build a real park since they bought it this season. it's far from worth it. asc didn't spend the money building a park because they knew they were going to get rid of the mountain. next year i'm sure you'll see a lot of change for the better. as you've stated with the way the freestyle part of the mountain has dropped dramatically the past 2-3 years, how could it not?
 
the park was indeed sick yesterday. but it used to be the best. Its slowly declined in the past years, and yesterday I realized that I skied at mount snow for the atmosphere. and thats pretty much gone.

 
Just an FYI to you guys, the sale of Mount Snow isn't finalized yet. ASC just closed the deal with Intrawest for Steamboat, the one for Mount Snow / Attitash and Killington / Pico isn't complete yet.
 
i agree with you. elia used to be given the power to make by far the best park on the east & there was ALWAYS a crew of talented, down to earth skiers. that place was so so so so much fun to ski like 3-5 years ago
 
yeah def, thats why i always miss being home, cuz at wv and loon, everyone is so much friendlier. i try and be as friendly as possible to everyone on the slopes anyways. no reason to be a dick to someone who shares the same passion as you,

i find alot of people at mount snow these days that just thing they are wayyy to cool because they are good at skiing, and dont talk to anyone outside their crew
 
yea their whole image is wrong. Even the ski patrol is confused and retarded- I get on the lift with one of em and we start talkin about the "all east pass" and how that the mountains are going to have get together and have some kind of partnership to keep the "all east pass resorts" honoring each other b/c we all know what these resorts are. It is ingrained in everyone's head-at least do a mt snow killy pass and she was like "WHAT? that's stupid that will never work they are all different owners" and i was like "yea i kno that but they are gonna hav to do somethin because thats what people are familiar with going to" Clearly, you are an idiot stupid patroller and you dont understand marketing or advertising.
 
I'm pretty sure tavis heed can single-handedly ruinthe atmosphere of a moutnain, even with just two trips a season.

this weekend we did find one other crew of pretty fun kids though so it was a good time. what mt snow really needs is tutors for the park crew and a park pass.

but seriously, at mt snow i said hi to this guy who looked real good cause he was all steezed out and he didnt even say hi back. It made me feel sad on the inside :(
 
mount snow was the original jump off on the east coast ^ fuck this kid who says heed ruined it and the other kid who says ppl arent friendly, maybe were just pissed cuz were stuck ridin at a wack mountain this yr- the old mount snow ran shit and the best riders in the best repped it- those who are the ones who are blowin/have blown up
 
we are all in the same boat man, when you see kids 2-3 days a week every week, and they still dont say hi back or show any kindness towards you. ide say thats pretty lame
 
i never see the same people at mtsnow besides the ski block crew and most of them are wicked chill and will say what up
 
I hope they completely forget about the stupid ass no-name park. They should just go back to inferno and el diablo. I'll tell you one thing though, ASC selling it was definitely not a bad thing. They lose so much money a year, and it seemed like they were doing what they did to sugarbush a few years back. They didn't do anything to it and eventually sold it. Hopefully the new owner knows how important the parks are at mount snow.

I grew up at mount snow and even I am feeling this...Nick makes a good point, I also wish that I could go back to 04-05 and hike some rails with him, Alex and Ty Con
 
the company that bought mount snow bought attitash. the attitash terrain park was always bad so i am sure it can only get better for us.

New company- Good stuff That is my opinion anyways.

Plus this company that bought attitash and mount snow owned crotched mountain and they have a sick terrain park so i think there is hope. Dont give up on your home mountian. it takes longer to call a new mountin home.
 
its tru. its pretty much a big "Fuck you im too cool for school" vibe. we always get it. theres no reason why you can't be friendly when you keep seeing the same people over and over again. theres no excuse for it other then being retarded. but whatever thats the vibe at snow. okemo and stratton seem a lot more friendly esp okemo-kids there are always chill.
