Mount snow opens on a monday?

We blew snow last night and into this morning on Long John, Launch Pad,

Cascade, Canyon, The Gulch and Nitro. We’re working towards Monday as our opening day, weather depending.

Our strategy is to open with top to bottom skiing for all ability

levels. For beginners we'll have Long John to Beaver Hill. Our

intermediates can enjoy Cascade to Canyon and our jibbers will love the

features on Nitro to Titanium.

AHHH! soo there goes my weekend

I am so pissed about this. They keep saying thanks for the understanding, and are trying to make promises they cant keep. I know it isn't totally their fault because mother nature is playing a big part in this equation but come on. They have been saying they would open for weeks now and I am getting tired of this, I just bought a season pass there and was really hoping to use it! I have to go away next weekend , and the one after that so I won't be skiing until jan. because of the blackout dates on my pass. We have already lost maybe a month of skiing from this. I really just want them to open something but they refuse to open without top to bottom coverage. I mean just look at how packed the days were when they opened the launch pad, people just want to ski and I feel we should be able to ski when other mountains around them have opened. But thats just my opinion

I'm with ya... I just bought a pass as well and I'm sittin here trying to be patient but it's getting a little ridiculous. I had Sunday all planned.....FUCKK. Too bad they won't allow hiking and sessioning

the mount snow snowmakers are fucking idiots in my opinion. They make snow for one night, make a huge fucking deal about how they are going to open, and then it rains or its 60 degrees the next day. They must have lost so much money

yeah good fucking call mount snow. lets fucking open on a fucking monfuckingday when people have work or classes. not on a sunday after it FUCKINGGGGGG SNOWS
BALLS mount snow, BALLSSSSSSSS.
you better make me jizz my snowpants the first day your actually going to be open.

i dont understand why they still cant open it was cold enough last night to blow some serious snow, its cold enough right now, and its cold enough tonight as well as an expected 1 to 3 of natural. they boast the most fan guns on the planet and the web page says they have an average base depth of 5 inches already. i think they could open a few trails, maybe not as many as they would like, but its time to give the people what they want.

My thoughts exactly. And you gotta put yourself in their shoes, would you want to open your mountain if you knew the conditions were going to suck? A 5 inch base? You might as well be skiing on rocks. Everyone's gotta calm down and understand that the resorts are doing everything they can to bring you GOOD skiing. Temps are dropping, you'll be skiing in no time.

like, if i was in charge of mount snow, using my superior skills and knowledge, i would have everything open.

It's hard not to bitch, whine, and complain when skiing is the only thing that brings peace of mind. I know the're doing everything they can

i agree that everyone is struggling, but i disagree that they would open if they could. launch pad was open with jibs over a month ago. with around 5 inches on it. they dont owe it to the public but it sure would be nice if they did something like that again. im just frustrated i havent been able to use my pass at mt snow yet. i cant afford to go anywhere else right now.

This.

People really need to view our industry from a resort industry's perspective. Yes for many, opening launch pad would be awesome, as much as possible! BUT, the majority of people who ski/ride don't ski park. Although the scene is growing, the majority of resort users are recreational skiers/riders. It wouldn't be profitable to open one little area with the current weather situation, expenses, employee time, etc.

Blame it on mother nature.

anyone1 going to snow tomorrow???? I'm trying to get the day off work, but don't think it's gonna happen

I went and hiked mount snow today with a few friends, and the collective snowboarders were there and some buck 90 crew too. They had a down rail and a down flat rail set up, but there is good coverage so they should have shit set up and ready to roll for tomorrow. hope its fun
