Mount point on 4frnt devastator

I am going to be getting a pair of the 179 dev's and am wondering where I should mount them. I will be skiing about 20% park 40% all mountain and 60% pow. for reference I am 5'9" and weigh about 130. the recommended mount point is 4.75 back from center so I'm thinking 3.75 back from center but I don't want my tips to dive in pow.

Also, should I get the 179's or the 172's? I'm leaning towards the 179's cause I'm still growing.

Go 179 and mount on rec especially if you're not going to be skiing park or switch often.

-4.75cm back is less than 2in from mounting center, no need to overthink it.

I wont be skiing park often but I do plan on spinning and landing switch into pow

Get the 179's for sure, they are light and easy to ski so don't size down.

As for the mount point, I mounted mine at +1.5cm from recommended and I think that's a good balance for me. However, I ski switch a lot and I would not mount any farther forward than that. I would honestly say just go with recommended but if you're really worried about switch performance go with +1cm from recommended.

I think if you have never skied the ski before, starting at recommended is the right move. I have slightly fine tuned my mount point on the dev over the years, but you will not be at a disadvantage with what 4FRNT recommends. Its a pretty progressive mount point as it

yeah, I think I'm just going to go with rec. I currently ski the J skis allplay and I mounted those at recommended which is -4 from true center and I regret not mounting them at 2.5 from true center. granted the allplays are basically symmetrical so I think that's why.

I've decided that imma mount them +1.5 from rec because my skis from last season are way too short for me so the devs will be my main ski. does anyone have any experience riding them mounted that close to center?

Yup, I mounted mine at that exact mount point and I think they ski great like that if you have a very freestyle skiing approach.
