Whos going!? i think im going somewhere in July (can afford Windells)

I search bared it also, and just had some questions about the coaches and stuff.

If there is good coaching, facilities and food. I know there are some people who work there on this site and i would like some input. Thanks!!!!

dude all of the rails are sick, and the jump line is just as good as any other camp. in my opinion they had some features that were definitely as good, or better than windells, plus all the people there are nice.

Hey the mt.hood ski camp is good i have had a couple friends go and they said it was awsome they run 2 camps around the same time one freestyle other race. But you can work off the fees of camp if money is a problem. think im just gonna get a summer pass and drive up there and ride the park for less money.

great, looks like im not going since i didnt help set the dinner table tonight and my mom PMSed.

sooo maybe i can go and hit the public park.

does anyone know if the free camp grounds are usually filled with other skiers to chill with?

and is there somewhere to bathe?

windells is a 14yearold steeze bag factory and babysitting service, MHSSC, is a much smaller camp with a much mellower vide, if you want to learn new stuff, in a low key setting, go to MHSSC, if you think you got the steeziest tall-T go to windells

ya MHSC is sick. they have a three jump line thats good. and then good fun rails up top ... you dont need much more. except a bigger jump at the bottom . when i was up there last summer the bottom was a poppy 45 footer.

one great thing about mhssc is that you dont have 300+ campers in your way at all times

oh yea and it's $825 cheaper

MHSSC is pretty chill. Good people working in it, pretty good park, and more people than most people think, but its all spread out. Closer to palmer than windells, too, and for hell of a lot less. But if you cant go to the camp, just hit up the airstrip and pay out the ass for lift tickets and bathe in trillium. No need for rooms and electricity and all that bullshit in the height of summer at hood

Bathing? Why would one need to do that? You'll just wash all the sickness off of you, and you know you need the sickness.

haha funny man...

but seriously. is there like a river nearby? my parents want to know this stuff haha

i know the area kind of though, like the stores since i went there this winter no offense (so many hicks)

but is anyone else going to camp out there this july?

trillium lake

but be warned, it can be periodically overcrowded on weekends and such by city folk, and by people who spent way too much money for high cascade

I've heard of people getting memberships the YMCA to take showers, not sure where it is though. And MHSSC has the chillest coaches for sure as stated above. You really don't need more than 3 jumps and some rails.

MHSSC is sick! The coaches are dope, chill atmosphere, they seem like they help you learn a lot and the setups are siick! Fun jumps and SUPER fun rails!

There are a lot of rivers.. sandy, zigzag, hood river, columbia and etc. HICKS!!!! you have got to be joking!!!! pics or there were not hicks!

sweet. lakes? because no way im going more then a 2 days without getting yucky sweat off of me, plus my acne will start bombarding out of my face.

YEAH there are, we were like 20 mins away from ski bowl on that road, there was a grocery market near our condo and wow, i saw soooo many hicks.. like all out, checkered shirts with wear and tear, grease stains on clothes, fat and just obious u know

so im gonna bump this thread and i need some fast replies

so i got 1000 bucks from my mom for my birthday so now i know i can afford the camp but what i thought about is instead of going to the camp, just camp out on the airstrip and pay the for the day tickets on the glacier. it will save me a lot of cash.

is the coaching really effective?

coaching can be effective for some. it acts more like motivation than anything; to help people go past their barriers, and it doesn't hurt to have somebody tell you what's up. but what is more effective: a week of skiing vs. potentially several weeks or more? That's hard to tell. Probably more time on snow is better almost any way around, especially with some good foundations.

but with a grand, you could get a summer pass, and post up for... a loooong ass time.

just use trillium as a big tub to keep clean, keep it real at the airstrip, and have some contingencies for some off days.

^thanks, grant? right?

UGH im on their website but cant find the prices on the tickets/season passes

im leaning more towards just shredding the public park,

are the jumps in the public park just as nice? and how hot/cold is it at hood/the airstrip?

MHSSC will be sick this summer. was up there two weeks ago and there is so much snow. look for a few more new boxes and another down bar we hope. also the new lodge is looking super good. c you there

o yea. early camp sessions might be able to session some rails at the camp at night under the lights. but that would be in june

public is lift accessed, at least it has been in years passed, though i heard something about HC buying that lane or some funny business.

How do they plan on cracking down on people taking racer tickets?

On another note; the camp is super dope, the jumps are real fun and all pretty decently sized, and the rails are all super legitament.

Im considering MHSSC over windells just because of the price...sounds like the skiing is pretty good at the hood summer camp, but how are the cabins and facilities... they look pretty ghetto on the website...

I've been going to MHSSC for two years now, and it's deffinately worth it. You get access to their private park, and you still go in the public park a ton too. The lodge is pretty sweet too. They've got decent food, two halfpipes for skating, and some trampolines.

i think the closest YMCA is in portland there might be one in gresham but i doubt it its pretty trashy but just get a hotel or something the rivers on hood are freezing i dont know why anyone would take a bath in it
