We're thinking about coming down to Meadows for the weekend. Anybody have any input on what it's like down there? The snow conditions? Park conditions? Is it worth the 57 dollars?
 
well meadows is generally steeper and more undulated terrain than timberline but i like timberline a lot better. t line actually cares about their riders and maintains their parks(which are 100X better than meadows) and has good all around natural riding terrain. meadows base is also lower than t line so they have more snow(50 inch base compared to meadows 38 inch base). so i would recommend t line to you instead if you can

yeah but word is that T-line doesn't have a park yet, and we wanna go up for some park. Also I skied T-line a ton last year with spring passes, and it would be fun to try meadows because we never hit it up. Plus according to their website, meadows park is pretty good right now.

JB-I think spence has school those days, but maybe we might come by those days :). We'll talk man.
 
meadows looks like they have some pretty fun jibs set up, didn't hit it up though last sunday because it started raining which is something I don't deal with
 
I hit up meadows yesterday and it was really fun for November! There were lots of freshies and fun cliff drops. this is my first season in the northwest so the snow was definitely an interesting experience. The park at meadows was not really that great. If you are planning on going there you may be able to just hike the rails instead of paying 57 dollars cuz they are right at the bottom to your left as you drive into the main base area. The jumps are like 5 feet and not worth the lift ticket if thats why your going. they have a few nice jibs set up and are all def. hikable. have fun!
 
Thanks alot! Very helpful advice. We might head down to t-line instead. It all depends on what we decide as a group tomorrow.
 
gotta stick up for meadows here. as far as early season riding goes, meadows is poppin off. I was there friday saturday and it was freshies all day each day. the snow was velvety and amazing. Many cliff hucks were had, as well as many natural hits and jibs. there are a few rails set up, but there's pow IN NOVEMBER people and try 58 inches not 30, the jibs will be there all season dont worry. T-line has good parks in the winter, but thats it. I call it flat-line. much more variety at Meadows.
 
flat-line would be a nice name, t line doesn't have anything good outside park. I love t line for the park though. We went to meadows on Saturday, it was fucking epic. Tons of powder, tons of cliff drops. Got some filming in, edit will be dropping fo sho, i'll drop it in this thread.

Meadows opened Vista Superpipe Thursday - only SP on West Coast.

230 feet long, 18 foot walls - Zaug cut.

Three other parks operating already.

This picture is from a couple of seasons ago but the pipe is in the same location.

Regarding snow fall - T-Line measures their's higher up on the mountain. Meadows is measured at the base lodge - about the 5500 foot level.
 
I wouldn't exactly call those parks. By the way, the shipyard blows. If you spaced those jibs out along a run and not all piled a couple of yards from each other (with the only access being hiking or a shitty slow two-chair beginner lift) you might have something. That lift is so damn slow and you go through the shipyard and you can maybe hit 2 features if you have cat-like reflexes.
 
Timberline measure their snowfall only 500 feet higher than you. If both resorts were on the same side of the mountain then the snowfall would have hardly any difference at all. However having most of the systems come off the pacific ocean directly at us means that Timberline's side of the hill might pick up a bit more precip. So elevation may help a little in making Timberline's base depth greater....but I would say that overall their base depth is greater due to the fact that they get the snow just before you which may leave less left over as it comes over the ridge on the "brand-x" lifts.
