Mount gone wrong

Heres the story
I buy new skis and bindings from snowandsurf in Christchurch New Zealand and so I get the mounting done for free at the store. I brought the stuff awhile ago so I didnt buy the stuff and get the mount done straight after, I came back a couple of weeks later.
When I droped them off I decided to go with 1cm forward from recommended length (on advice from the guy at the store) and also made sure they were aware that the breaks would have to be bent to fit over the skis. When I picked them up 3 days later, the breaks hadnt been touched and the mount was 1cm back!!(I only discovered the mount being back once I got home). To get the boot into the bindings you had to pull the breaks outwards otherwise they would catch. I ask the guys at the store wtf is up and a guy takes them outback and bends the breaks for me. Now they are over bent on one ski so I think now theyr gona catch on the snow when taking an edge...
What should I do Im kinda pissed off with the whole situation to be honest. I only got them mounted there because it was free and I didnt have time to do it myself (mounted 2 skis before its not fuking hard ae...)

Did you tell them they mounted them in the wrong spot too? That shop sounds like it is half assing everything. I wouldn't be very happy either if I were in your position.

go in and complain.

if it's a 2cm difference they can do a second mount on those skis without interfering, but they should compensate you.

if you make a big enough stink about it their is a chance you could get some new skis or a decent amount of store credit at the very least.

the key is just don't go into the shop like a giant asshole demanding things. just explain the situation and say you're really disappointed in how your skis turned out and if they don't do anything to fix this problem you'll have no choice but to take your business elsewhere and tell others about the situation you had with them. word of mouth is a very powerful thing in this industry.

good luck to you and enjoy your winter you lucky NZ'er.

Just do not be a dick about the entire situation. A calm guy is much better to deal with, and you'll get farther.

Ive decided when ever i have to bring skis into a shop to get mounted i now take a sharpie and draw a line where i want them to be mounted from. on the slip i just put mount on sharpie line so there is no questions. If they do happen to mess it up then its 100% their fault at that point and not that it could just be a miscomunication.

and my shop actually likes it because they dont have to worry about it at all, they are older race guys so they have years of experience mounting on the suggested line, center mount or somewhere inbetween is a new thing
