Motivational Posters!!!

Wow, over a dozen replys cluttering this thread...even personal messages insulting my beliefs...even though I didn't mention the Bible I guess it still has the power to stir up some controversy after all these years, interesting.

Well since I don't want to clutter this thread too much more, I'll just say a couple things real fast, and then you can feel free to PM me your insults or thoughts, or whatever.

I don't believe in The Big Bang theory, or Evolution.

I'll give a couple fast reasons.

The whole theory of Evolution is based upon the Assumtion that there is no God, while some of you may choose to believe that, I don't...and there are many examples of how science and The Bible go hand in hand, but for right now, I won't address those.

1. - The human brain is the most complicated structure in the known universe. It contains over 100 billion cells, each with over 50,000 neuron connections to other brain cells. This structure receives over 100 million separate signals from the total human body every second. If we learned something new every second of our lives, it would take three million years to exhaust the capacity of the human brain. In addition to conscious thought, people can actually reason, anticipate consequences, and devise plans – all without knowing they are doing so.

--The whole theory of evolution rests on the fact that we as humans became this way because of a need to advance, we haven't come anywhere close to tapping our potential, so clearly our brains weren't developed through use.

2. - A living cell is so awesomely complex that its interdependent components stagger the imagination and defy evolutionary explanations. A minimal cell contains over 60,000 proteins of 100 different configurations. The odds of this assemblage occurring by chance is 1 in 104,478,296.

3. - Decay of Earth's Magnectic Field:

Dr. Thomas Barnes, Emeritus Professor of Physics at the University of Texas at El Paso, has published the definitive work in this field. Scientific observations since 1829 have shown that the earth's magnetic field has been measurably decaying at an exponential rate, demonstrating its half-life to be approximately 1,400 years. In practical application its strength 20,000 years ago would approximate that of a magnetic star. Under those conditions many of the atoms necessary for life processes could not form. These data demonstrate that earth's entire history is young, within a few thousand of years.

I could come up with more things to say on the subject, and this has been discussed at length before. Now you defend YOUR position.

1. so you're saying the point of every brain cell is strictly for memory storage??? that doesn't make any sense. i like how you sum up the function of something you admit is so complex it is almost beyond our comprehension in a paragraph.

2. how big is the universe?

3. sounds to me like a classic case of unseen third variable. and youre saying that carbon dating from earlier than a couple thousand years ago is fake (dinosaur bones...?!?!?)?

Clearly someone can't read...and more cluttering will happen.

1. - No, I'm not saying that every brain cell is for memory storage...are you disputing the idea that we use less the 10% of our brains capacity, and therefore could not have possibly evolved it through need for more capacity?

2. - Explain yourself further.

3. - I'm simply presenting you some facts, remember that facts are neutral, I can use them too.

His reseach has been documented, check for yourself.

What's your third variable?

^^ Yah but what is your actual proof in god. Saying that the human mind is bigger than it needs to be doesn't prove anything.

i believe there has to be some force that inspires people. Im sure some crazy athiest like eleven would say all these people are brainwashed but if you have ever seen someone speak in tongues you may know what im talking about. A big thing that makes me believe is when the lord has worked miracles in my life. I thank god everyday for all of my wonderful and many blessings.

1- i'm saying you are equating a brain way too much to a computer. the brain isn't a static object with XXXXXX amt of storage. trying to understand it that way is just the complete wrong approach and will let you draw incorrect conclusions. neuroscience is so limited right now that this arguement is pointless. we barely know how the subconcious functions, where instinct and reactions etc. hell, there is a theory of hwo memories get stored (links from node to node), but seriously think about how complex a memory is sight, sound, touch, taste etc. the idea that we only use 10% of our brains is a myth and just looking at the number of cells is a incorrect measurement becasue they get destroyed and are created constantly.

2- you said the chance for a living cell is very small. i'mn saying earth is a spec in the almost infinity of space in outer space...1/1mil isn't that small from that perspective.

3. i don't know the third variable and if i did well i wouldn't be here. the data starts in 1920s...thats a ridiculously small data sample. his data contradicts carbon datign on like millions of objects on this planet. explain that. millions of pieces of evidence vs one theory on shaky data. who wins?

the human brain is quite a marvel. i find it hard to believe that chances and anomylies in a course of 3 billion years has led from single celled organisms all the way to 6 foot tall, thinking, reasoning, emotional humans.

trillions of years. trillions of galaxies.

there are thinking, emotional animals that are just as complex as us.

i'm somewhat a fan of hybrid theory (evolution is god's tool, he creates the rules for life (some of which darwin discovered) and watches what happens)....but i question even that. its such a comforting, mental thing to believe in a god, its reassuring -- thats why we made it up...to explain the unexplainable and create something to tell ourselves we have wrapped our mind around the unknown . and that ultimately god is a human creation though.

sorry to cunt up the thread, but i think about this alot

Instead of asking me to prove that God exists...why don't you prove to me that he doesn't?

For that matter, how do you know the wind exists? Have you ever seen the wind? Certainly not, you've seen the effects of the wind, but not the wind itself, I know that God exists because I can see the effects of God everywhere I look. Speaking on tongues was mentioned, and that's a great example...how could someone speak in a language they don't know? To my knowledge, there is no known cure for epilepsy, in spite of that however, I know a guy who was healed of it at a church event...he was prayed over, and said that he could just tell, he could feel it was gone, got tested again and guess what...no more epilepsy. Explain this to me, what science did that?

timoski:

1. - So what you are saying is that because neuroscience is young, that all the information we have on the capacity of the brain, and its usage is wrong? Now who's going against the science?

2. - Again, you're making assumptions...we have yet to find any planet like ours, one that supports and sustains life of any sort. So I choose to act like you and say this...if I can't see it, it doesn't exist...prove to me the size of our universe and the rest of your claims, and we'll go from there.

3. - How long have we been using radio-carbon dating...honestly?

We're looking at the earth like the rings on a tree, being that the first 'rings' are closest to the center and so forth, the problem with this is that the earth constantly shifts and changes...if a tree did this, by comparison, it would be very hard to get an accurate count of the rings, and therefore, the age of that tree. Would you agree?

It's safe to say that carbon dating is also young, and based on your views about neuroscience, then we can't possibly know al there is to know about it, and could be very wrong.

can you prove this? do you know these complex creatures? why dont they ever write or introduce themselves. I understand the the universe is huge but your basically stating that you know there is alien life elsewhere when there is actually no proof of alien life existing

okay, for this whole evolution agument, I hate how people always need to choose between

a.- evolution is true and there is no God

-or-

b.- that god created the universe in 7 days.

I would like to start by saying that a ton of the stuff in the bible cannot be taken literaly, for example if god created the earth in 7 days, how can anybody explain the fact that there have been dinosours discovered, and they were found to have existed hundreds of millions of years before the bible says god made everything. Now some people may say that this proves that there is no God, butthat isnt the case either, Think about how much other stuff we disregard from the old testament, such as kosher laws and such.

And as for people who say that evolution is proof that there is no Greater being, I think that it does just the opposite. The fact of the matter is, if you look at the theory of evolution, you will see that there were so many more thing that could have gone wrong that would have gone wrong that would have made future human existence impossible, It is similar to a pyramid sales structure, that life originated from one kind of organism, and that organism had mutations, and then there were more mutations, and more species. If at any time a species that was an ancestor to man kind became extinct, we wouldnt exist, so the odds that man kind turned out as it did, the most complex organism there is, are very very low. this is why I believe that there is some sort of power that guided the process, that is called the theory of intelligent design. Jesus christ this was a long post

dude kosher laws arent important to christians because jesus said that all meats are clean and that what goes into your stomach doesnt make you unclean but what is in your heart makes you unclean.

^^ HAHA! Oh my - those were great. Though the Coldplay one has a picture of the Ozzy crew...? But when I got halfway down my mouth made a slight "O" shape and then "No he didn't..."

But those were good!

hahahahahahhahahahahahhahah the hummer one owns all others. but that religious one was gross. and the wii one was pretty damn funny as well

Okay Ive decided Ill only post a bunch once a day. Yeah. We will see how long I obey my own rule...
