Most underrated ski company???

elans are shit, my friend splitted the nose on 3 PAIRS IN A ROW, in two seasons, if that aint crap..... and he didnt skied them hard at all

 
Fischer?! They make foam core park skis! biggest waist of money ever after a season of stomping jumps the core will already be beaten down. Im gonna say either amplid, moment, or libtech. Lib tech does some sick stuff with there skis so i think there my number one choice.
 
Most of these companies are made in European countries and have no budget for U.S. advertising.

If some of the companies like surface and amplid are underrated we can only blame ourselves for letting gapers buy jank like nordica and elan. Nordica's not necessarily jank but its one of the only brand names average skiers can throw out.

 
Cause nordica is huge. not only do they have alpine skis they have a whole line of cross country skis. and boots so people see there name everywhere. Especially at the olympics which is where the gappers learn it. Not trying to argue with u just pointing out why so many people know of them.

they had a very shaky first couple of years with fairly large prodcut problems. As it seems, they appear to have started to turn it around however i did not hear very good response to skis like the "helix" last year as i saw them blow apart on hill...and the guy was not doing anything to harsh or out of the ordinary on them either.
 
Liberty...

People need to stop basing that company on the products they made in 2004. Every company goes through some trial and error in the first years. Now they're banger. Oh, and 3 year warranty? Yeah, find that somewhere else.
 
No way dude.. 9th is pretty fairly rated..

kinda solid skis with shitty topsheets... fairly light and typically stiff...

not sure about this upcoming season, i hear they are softer, but still made by some big european ski manufacturer...

 
moment was underrated like a year ago, now everyone loves their shit. bluehouse is very underrated, nobody knows them but they make sick skis, movement also, and i think everyone wants on3p skis so they're not necessarily underrated
 
Do they really? I hear their topsheets suck, but didnt know they straight fell apart...

thats suckage if they are really that bad durability..
 
I would say surface, they arent real known outside of the core skier group. And you are starting to see them gain momentum fast which points to people quickly discovering their product quality. (Just for the record - I do not and have not ever owned Surface skis, I just skied a demo last year and was very impressed)

As for Elan and Fischer they have the worst top sheets i have ever seen, It looks like a senior citizen designs their graphics. But loved Fischer ever since the old vacuum tubes.
 
corupt, not sure if i spelled that right, moment but they are growing, amplids getting really known now, iv heard surface is sick, and boone but i heard there skis are trash but idk cause iv never rode them
 
have u ridden them....

from what i hear, they're dynastars with different cores and topsheets....they'd have to be really good to be under rated.

I've never heard Boone's were trash, homie... especially being that only one pair has ever been broken, ever.. (again, due to falling off a ski rack going 85 on the freeway..)
 
agreed. not that known in the freestyle community. but are sick skis. the 09 partisans are so legit. carve so good switch its ridiculous. and the pop on them is like preloaded or some shit, when you go to ollie you be leaning back then it feels like the ski breaks and it sends you so high.

im in love with them. definitely a awesome underrated ski.
 
they put stiffer tails and stronger topsheets on them this year, those were the two biggest problems of last year's ones so i'm assuming they'll be sick this year, they'll have the great feel and be durable

i just looked at a picture and they're mounted so far back, and they're so not symetrical. they look like a race ski.

oh and the 185 length, is that legit 185 or do they measure weird like volkl and its like 181 or something?

Im thinkin Boone might sort of be the next Moment. Those Boones are almost unbreakable. Pretty sure Sugar tried to break them for a hole summer riding every day and he couldnt.
Also the guys at moment are super chill and boone himself is sick too.
 
hmm well there also the M022 model, but i dunno havent had a problem with mine besides the tip sheet chipping...what do you mean by splitted?
 
I think Amplid and Faction have it for me. Both are great little companies that put out a solid product with much more progression in their product lines than the big boys, and they aren't sending them over to China to be produced either. Last season, NS did an article on Faction and I was bored at work so I looked them up and sent an email telling them I supported what they were doing and was wondering if they could track down a pair of skis for me since they were sold out online, and Tony McWilliam (owner) himself emailed me back and got me in touch with the Canadian distributor to find me a pair. That's how to do business.

I don't really care what the pros ride, because they run thru skis like shit through a goose and when they're sponsored they can just grab a new pair whenever they way, but if you read the About Us on Amplid and Faction, that's what companies SHOULD be aiming to do.
 
yeah im wondering the same... i'll find out soon we picked them up at my shop and i'm meeting w/ the rep sunday and hopefully he'll lend me a demo : )
 
i woudnt say my favorites but yeah i'd defintely agree ppl dont talk about them... maybe cause they've been known as a race company for so long and now are pickin up some good nser's.. idk just my opinion
 
humm maybe because they don't pay the skis ;) i heard somewhere they were like spancerized, sounds crazy no?

and they aren't underrated i think, since this guy Timmy Wallgreen is riding for them you can see amplid skis everywhere, even in France i can see them ;)
