Most Progressed skier this season?

I searchbar'd and everything and i believe this thread hasnt been created yet. So my question to all of you out there, who do you believe has progressed the most this season, like out of pros. progression in this case means, who has helped the ski industry expand, who has made the overall most improvement this winter(person who you might have just found out about this year who is nasty, skiers whos gotten a lot of recognition for their skiing). You guys know what i mean.
so for me i think its.....Dumont. Hes won medals in most comps such as dew, he was crowned world champion by AFP, hosted the first annual dumont cup, and he had some sweet edits this year(JOSS video, slum dog illionaire).

Well I'd have to say Ian Cosco has made a pretty big statement this year. From his video blogs to appearances at JOSS and such.

It's gonna be real hard to tell before the movies for this year come out.
But with that said, I'm going with Dave Euler.

Probably Dave and/or Lj. Yall don't even know how much Lj has learned. Its like seriously unfathomable... but do able.

not hating here, but how can you say dumont is the most progressed skier because of medals when he one big air with a double front? can he even do a double cork? dumont did not progress

for me it was definatly Russ henshaw!

im def. not hatin bro. i respect that. i just like wat dumont did wit the dumont cup and all. i liked that mainly cuz it was a personal experience for me to see him at the dew and D.C and hes a mad chill dude. and honestly, i hear you guys sayin some su's and i didnt focus much on them this year. thats just my opinion and im askin for ns's opinions

Chris Laker. Stepped up his rail game, learned a bunch of stuff unnatural, and learned 3 or 4 new double flips. Kids gonna make it big soon.

Oh yea, that's true. LJ trumps all I think. I'm pretty sure there's gonna be no comparison.

im probably gonna get hated on by some simon dumont lovers, but honestly, i didnt see a lot of progression. I saw some diversity in his skiing.. but not progression.
I do give him props for trying the dub misty at joss, but other then that, smeh, he has been doing some of the same tricks for a while.
When it comes to progression, i would have to take my hat off to Justin Dorey, Tanner Hall, and the french fellas for incorporating dub flips in the pipe. For rails, definitly the TC crew. In the park, i like JF Houles incorporation of urban style tricks in contest runs (butter 270 on to down rail). In the Back Country... welll we will just have to wait and see in the movies.

in my mind it has to be tom w, not to ride his nuts like all the kids on here...but this season he went from the kid everyone on ns liked to one of the bigger names and better riders in the sport. (JOSS, dew tour...cmon now) its gotta be him.

Russ Henshaw i mean how many people knew who he was before this year and then he came and won JOI But also Lj from what iv seen this season could easily be him

has to be candide!!!! for fuck sake, he came back from back surgery, a shitty deal with rossi... and slayed it!!! he has all of the bm guys worried... and candidekamera is off tha hook!!!!

but if you need a young gun, gotta give it up to lj, russ, and thomas doplaids

backcountry durtschi is slaying it right now, i think john spriggs is gonna have some sick shots too. urban/rails nick martini is goin bonkers. for just overall, lj is fuckin destroying it, really establishing himself as a big air and well rounded skiier. also cosco is doing some big things, especially that unnati dub. todd wallnutz is making himself into a comp threat, wich is cool. and everyone who skis pipe has really stepped it up, spinning both ways switch and regular and throwing doubles.

yeah good call. glad to see some appreciation for candide. thinking about what he's been through over the last year or 2, after i'd finished watching candidekamera 1 i was so stoked- far more stoked than any ski vid before has ever made me. fuck me he absolutely killed it.

definately russ henshaw had a massive year- probably the best double flipper out there, double grabs in dubflips is pretty nuts- he really blew up for sure.

i think pk also went nuts- he won JOI a few years back and then had that real bad injury- and then he comes back with that ridiculous late/double cork which almost made me cry [no emo] in london, a trick that so many other pros have been working on imitating all season. so sick. his dub12 and swdub12 in x games big air were just absurdly sick, and the resigned rage that overcame me when he didn't win was a reflection of this.

i think if i had to pick 1 guy (maybe 2) i would have to go with xavier bertoni and kevin rolland. i was so pleased that xav won x pipe, not just because of his flawless, technical, massive tricks, but also because by winning he really put a shit on espn and their boring as fuck tanner vs. simon bullshit that we've had to sit through year on year. the other thing i really liked about xav at x was that each of his pipe runs was different- stomped sw10 to 10, and that wasn't even his best run. left and right 12s? insane. kevin was unlucky at x, not quite landing his run but if he had (last hit) then he woulda podiumed for sure- being able to maintain the amplitude in the pipe to throw a dubflip last hit is nuts, especially in a run that had a 12 in also- in france he actually threw 2 dubs in one run.

also, dorey had a great year in pipe, obviously, and so did matt philippi- his run at euro open was sick. all in all i'm pretty stoked about the ridiculous progression in pipe and there are so many excellent riders in the field that i'm pretty confident i'm never gonna have to sit through another tanner vs. simon espn narcolepsy-fest again.

Well just like almost everyone else, LJ and Compton immediately came to mind...

But for the sake of a different answer, how about another east coast transplant, Brendan Trieb! From the footage I've seen the kid has been killing it harder than I've ever seen him before. Props to you man!
