MOST POPULAR SKI BUYING WEBSITE

Pretty much what it says, where do you'll buy your skis at, or where do youll buy skis from. Private dealers, local shops, online websites, box stores like sports authority. Anyway I live in AK and the only real way to get skis is order them online or go through a private dealer like me who carries a select brand i.e. Ninthward a smaller up and coming company with good product at reasonable prices. My good friend carried Moment Skis as he was a friend of the owners since the beginning. Now Moment is so big they cut all small private dealers out so we no longer have that option either.

Just seeing what everybody thinks of the industry and how hard I feel it is to get new quality skis.

NS doesnt really have anything unless im looking in the wrong spot. Backcountry is hard to deal with in my opinion. Evo seems legit though. Any others?

look in the sell and trade forum, not brand new skis, but people selling used skis for extremely cheap. just snagged a pair of '08 surface watch life's in excellent condition for 60 bucks

Shipping to ALaska is hard and not being able to get ahold of any customer service kinda stinks. They also lost a pair of skis they were sending me. I never got them.

did you get that resolved?^

bc will get you the skis or your money back, dont just drop it if you did

but seriously, local shop....

If they lost a pair of your skis then they screwed up big time. But they have great customer service. If you call them you'll have a new pair in the mail or your money back. I can almost guarantee it. I would say a good percentage of NS has used BC and was happy with them. You can't beat their warranty/return policy

i used to love backcountry.com, but they just dont seem to have the deals like they used to. now they advertise something for 50% off, but they jack up the original price so its not really a deal. ive had some luck with skis.com and summitonline.com.

because the ski industry got smart and setup a Market Advertised Price to save local shops from going under... now backcountry cant undercut the shit out of shops and put them out of business, everyone is on equal playing ground now.

Local shops. Any brand who uses shopatron to allow you buy on brands site, but use local retailer to get you your skis, or sell you them direct of nobody near has them.

evo is great and there is free shipping for stuff over 100 so you probably would not have to worry about shipping.

Backcountry is way legit and their warranty coverage kicks ass

and skis.com is also very legit but they are also my local shop so i am somewhat biased

Support your local shop and go to World Cup Sports. There pricing is fair and if you have problems with your gear they will actually help you.
