Mosley seems to get trashed in here. Come on he really brought the sport to the mainstream media. Its like Tony Hawk. He brought the sport forward, allowing other to follow.

For someone to be 'overrated' they would have to be rated highly at the current time.

Right now Simon Dumont is rated pretty high.

WHAT?!?! Simon over-rated? If anything, people don't give him enough credit. Where do I start with his tricks? Halfpipe...900, Ally-oop flatpsins, inverted 7s, flairs, and every variation of those tricks from 180 to 900 as well as with different grabs. Slopestyle is just ridiculous. Switch and regular cork and switch and regular rodeo 5,7, and 9. Unnatty shit. Mistys. Bios. Nasty rail shit with lots of unnatty rail shit. What else do you want? He can probably learn it in a day.

moseley's the most overated outside the industry but thats because hes the only known pro outside the industry. He did throw a switch rodeo before tanner and he did get 4th in the last olympics he just doesnt ski anymore. Raps is overated or he just overrates himself. Last year in freeze he said there were only 10 skiers in the world that were as good as him. Also, i think freeze interviewed him for the interview special. and hes done shit in contests for the last couple of years.

I agree with the superpark movie,he used the huge hip as a table(I think he did an insanely big 180 something)....

my intire crew waited for his ass at the bottem of the hill and beat the shit out of him. i broke his poles agianst a tree, and we snapped one of his skis. fucker got uppercutted so much. he was bleeding from his eyes and shit, crying like a little pussy. i busted out a body slam on his ass and broke both of his arms. the ski patroler broke up the fight and clipped all of our tickets. we where gonna beat the shit out of the patroller but my mom came to pick us up.

i saw Rex at Toronto Snowjam. he was definately the best, and he seems like a funny guy, he gave some chick his ski and signed it cause she flashed him after he threw down in the quarter pipe.

OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!! You are saying that Steele Spence is underrated, and isnt well rounded! I ski with him, and he can ski bumps better than any pro at the X-Games, US Open, or any other big comp. Put him at the bumps and jumps and he would have won everything except halfpipe...he isnt really good in pipe, although he can throw some big tricks. He was like 10th in the world last year at Junior Worlds! And another thing, he should have won the Red Bull Big Air, his trick blew Jon outta the water (Jon is a good skier, but didnt deserve to win that day) It should have gone...Steele, Simon D., then Jon. He came out of Aspen where there arent a lot of big sponsorships and ways to get noticed, not like mammoth were there are big names from all of the big companies just watching for the next up-and-comer. We have no scouts, or big company representatives here, Obermeyer is here and thats it. SO it is hard to get noticed here! Plus, he was one of the first riders to really progress the rail part of our sport, him and Cusson, and a few others were really doing crazy shit on rails before Tanner, 3 Phils, and Evan and Candide, and CR. He was the only one to do the Titanic at X-Games...i could go on for hours about why Steele is NOT UNDERRATED! but why waste my time with fuckheads like midwest_rep who dont even know Steele!

halfpipe at bumps and jumps??? dont mistake me but wouldnt a bumps and jumps comp consist os bumps and jumps,theyre on tv all the time and all i see is moguls and aerials,if thered be a halfpipe it would defeat the whole purpose of having a bump and jump thingy

Tanner Hall, ladies and gentelmen has to be one of the most over-rated skiers in the industry as of late. The amount of recognition he gets is insane. The kid has ads in shitloads of magazines...he's on fucking billboards. At this point he is one of the icons of newschool skiing. When I tell snowboarders on the lift that I can throw 5's and 7's, they ask me if I can huck like 'that Tanner Hall guy'. And as I recall, who won the half pipe comp at the X-Games this winter? Well, it wasn't Tanner. What I'm trying to say is that there are kids out there that ski just as well, if not better than Tanner in all areas. Guys that can rip the shit out of that slopestyle course and the pipe. But everybody's watching Tanner. What's the deal? Is Tanner over-rated? Is he receiving total recognition for shit that other skiers can do just as well? In my opinion...yes he is.

Now come on and tell that I'm a dumbass for saying that Tanner Hall is over-rated. If I cared...I wouldn't have written this.

i partly agree... tanners been throwing the switcch rodeo for 3 years at comps while jon, cr, easly, pep and other guys have been stepping it up constantly... yet he keeps placing good.... you have to give him credit though for being one of the few guys out there throwing spins to rails in comps.

I just thought from what I've seen he wasnt up there with the rest but guess I was wrong. This thread wasnt supposed to be anything amazingly deep or anything, just your opinion on which pros get more coverage than their tricks or style deserves credit for. I think Dash Longe should get more credit than he does...he can throw any trick natural, unatural, switch, and switch-unatural before moving onto the next trick...which is sweet!

dude, tanner hall is sick. my favorite 3 jibbers are tanner hall, jon olsson, and candide thovex with many others in a tight tie for fourth. tanner has been laying it down year after year. he gets all the play because he deserves it dude. candide is just cwazy (and i've heard some cwazy rumors about him lately). jon just consistently kills everywhere. many people don't like either three for some specific reason, but minor differences aside, there's no doubt that all three are definitely among the elite of the best.
