so i've had my macbook for a little while now, but i'm still relatively new to the whole thing. and i know nomen did the pick of the week thing, but i think it'd be cool for everyone to list their favorite apps they use. sorry if this was made already.

1. Quicksilver

2. UnrarX

3. iSquint

4. Handbrake

5. Flip4Mac

6. iStumbler

7. Transmission

8. Sidetrack

9. Appdelete

10. Hide Folders

there are ten for now, no particular order i just thought of some and wrote em down. anyways share your favorites!

1. Quicksilver-app launcher and much more, most powerful app you can dl IMO. definite must.

2. UnrarX-pretty self explanatory really, good for converting .rar files if you download a lot of them.

3. iSquint-very simple itunes movie converter to get your movie files in that pesky .mp4 format. one of the easier ones to use.

4. Handbrake-converts movies of most formats, good if you do some editing etc.

5. Flip4Mac-lets you play .wmv movies in quicktime, way useful.

6. iStumbler-i can't remember off the top of my head, and can't look.

7. Transmission-simplest torrent downloader i have found and the most reliable.

8. Sidetrack-don't remember off top of my head either.

9. Appdelete-fully deletes apps and folders that go along with them. usually not a problem on macs but is occasionally.

10. Hide Folders-just a program that lets you hide certain folders from being easily found. great for the massive amounts of child porn you have.

decent list, i will add

Mac the Ripper: rips dvd's super sweet

Handbrake: Encodes for ipods etc

what size: lets you explore where all your hd space went, helped me find that i have like 10 gig of duplicate music etc

Aurora: sweet and free alarm clock, works with your itunes and wakes the computer from sleep/ puts it to sleep

VLC: by far the best movie player, smokes quicktime and is free

DivX converter - allows you to play .avi movies (basically most torrents)
Perian - allows the auido from .avi to work
Transmission - yea its a repeat, but it's a great torrent program
ClamXav - incase you ever download something malicious, this will find it and move it/it's support files into a folder that you can then delete permanently
Senuti - allows you to transfer files from your ipod to itunes (senutiitunes)
YouControlTunes - Places controls for itunes in your top menu bar so you can control them without bringing up the itunes app.
Those are my personal faves.

Vuze= Great torrenting program
Apple mail is super convinient if you are still using webmail try it out. you can consolidate your accounts into one inbox which is great for school, work, personal emails.
Lightroom 2= One of the best photo editing programs i've used.
Audio Hijack Pro= Really awesome, can take audio from any program and drop it into itunes for you.
For any people that are looking for engineering type programs check out:
Matlab= Lets you code in for solving complex vector and matrix equations, super powerful
Labview= interface that can also solve equations with changing controls and produce graphs, will also be able to bring in outside sources if you get whats called an ELVIS board
Mathmatica 7= Stephen Wolfram's software, incredibly genius.
