Most inspirational thing ever seen skiing

Was at waterville last year and saw a kids mother who had cancer come and watch him shred the park. probably the highlight of my entire skiing life.

if anyone knows who he was, let me know

Good luck kid, hope your mom is doing better.

sit ski backie...on a random day in the park, no cameras except maybe his contour, just balls, a want to go upside down and some mountain dew.

I was at a safety meeting once and saw an eagle flying with a serpant in its talons, instantly I knew skiing was my life

epic

but yeah ryanvdonk, two of my favorites have been 1)pausing on some steeps just and turning my head just in time to catch a sit skier mobbing it and 2) a sit skier bombing the last jump in the park and watching the entire park blow up on a day when seriously badass tricks would rarely elicit any response at all...hype

Skiing at Taos on closing day. Done skiing and having a beer with my friend. Look up the hill and notice the following in this order:

1) Skier ripping a bump line in huge slushy bumps

2) Said skier is on Telemarks

3) Said skier is female

4) She is smokin hot

5) She skis up to the deck and sits at the table next to us

I was so inspired, my ski pants should have been sponsored by Barnum Bailey:

Back atcha. Gives a whole new perspective on the Inspired Tour. What are B-dog and the rest of the Inspired crew actually doing?

Visited Telluride Co. and at the end of each day I saw the same ski patroller absolutely nuking while carrying a massive yellow lab. The patroller was going stupidly fast but the dog fucking loved it. When he stopped and dropped the lab, the dog immediately started barking and jumped back into the patrollers arms. The patroller looked like he was done for the day but because the dog was so stoked, he got back in the gondola to take him for another run. This was a very simple moment, but it was a true expression of the joy skiing can bring to life. The kind of joy that inspires you to take one last run with your best friend

Seriously, did anyone actually read the thread? I understand the desire for people to jump in and tell their story, but I don't think that's what this thread was about. Anywaaaay, OP, sounds pretty cool.

At a slalom race a few years ago, a girl I was competing against was one of the best skiers in our league and on her run, she crashed and had to hike back up around like 7 gates. At the placements afterwards, she still was so stoked for the top three. For some reason it really inspired me. lame story is lame

Ahh great thread. So, I volunteer my time in the winters to teach inner city kids from Boston how to ski. The best thing is when these kids get off the bus and look at the mountain we are at and their eyes light up. Most of these kids have never seen a mountain. Also, by the end of the day they are so stoked they made it down the bunny hill or a green without falling. Makes one realize we take so much for granted being able to ski if we want to. Having the money to do so. It really has put something I love in a new light.
