what are the most ghetto places in the world?

i heard durbin in south africa is pretty crazy and maybe southeast washington dc and los angolas

but everybody knows the coolest ghetto is baltimore

camden new jersey.

saw a 20/20 on the city, shit's fucked. it's absolute hell there, i can't believe it exists that badly.

I was born around DC in a poor part...some may call it ghetto. But it's not. Not compared to most places in Africa. Durban's not at all bad compared to even 50 miles out of the city.

Why do you care what's ghetto? It's not like it's cool or anything.

go to almost anywhere in a 3rd world country and it will probably be worse than the most ghetto place in the u.s

no a ghetto has to be like the bad area of an otherwize good city, thats why i think its durban, cause i heard someone gets popped like every 10 minutes

or maybe rio de janario if youve seen city of god

prob one of those 4th world countries like iraq or haiti or outside jberg in S. africa. go back to wwII in poland and theres your answer

tijuana is a shithole but its not THAT bad.

nigga stole my bykes in some hotel parking lot in like maryland.

i drove thrugh compton in a white mini van with 5 honkys in it, that was scary.

annnd i lived right near troy, NY which has more crack than anywhere else in the world...

i found it funny that in both troy and compton you see like 7 year old kids in diapers, you know you are in the ghetto when you see some kid walking around in a diaper by himself.

Anyone saying ANY location in the United States is completely off.

While cities like Gary, Newark, Detroit, etc are pretty ghetto...they are nothing compared to the rest of the world.

Are we talking ghetto as in poor or violent/dangerous?

Because there are places all over the world that are incredibly poor.

If it is the dangerous, there are a ton in Africa. Johannasburg, Mogadishu, Lagos, Cote d'Ivoire, liberia....

There are a ton of really dangerous cities in S. America too. Medelline, Bogata, etc.

Then there are placed like Chechnya and Karachi and Kabul.

All of those places are crazy

The cops are the drug dealers...highly corrupted.

Rio's ghettos are pretty big and violent but it's easy to avoid them. I was in Fortaleza this summer, in northern Brazil, and it's where the largest ghetto in South America is. Imagine 4 or 5 kms surrounded by poverty and houses made of recycled bricks, mortar and whatnot. We went to a beach barrack in that area for lunch and were given a ride back to the less dangerous part of the slum by the barrack owner to catch the city bus because he insisted upon it...

richmond and oakland, ca. They may not compare to africa, but they are pretty ghetto. I can't think of anywhere that is much worse.

realistically i dont think anywhere in America could really compare to like darfur refugee camps and shit.

read the thread.

more like Flatbush NY

and whomever said Troy..haha not ghetto..more like white trash central.

come to albany, i'll give you the tour of ghetto

durban SA is pretty bad.. checked it out myself. IN the US gary, indiana has one of the highest crime profiles

Pretty sure that it is relatively safe to other places in South Africa. I am pretty sure Joburg is much much much more dangerous than Durban. I had a buddy spend a semester in Durban and they didn't have any issues with it. But pretty much all of Africa is a bit insane.

Most of China. When I was in Xian, I saw a guy holding his baby over the sidewalk as it took a shit, and none of the Chinese people were even phased by it. A kid and both his grandparents were living in a 10 foot by 10 foot shack, and that was in a neighborhood with like 5 million other people living in the same conditions. So comparitively, New Jersey is paradise. (I never thought I would say that)

i dont care actually and albany IS ghetto- i live here and drive through arbor hill everyday (granted with my doors locked)
