Most difficult thing about park skiing

The most difficult thing is having knees and ligaments that are prone to injury. Getting hurt for long (very long) periods of time sucks

Probably the whole "stopping actual skiing" part. At least that's why I never bothered... I have too much fun and honestly don't care enough to stop doing what I already love.

^ and I honestly don't mean that as a dig to park skiing. I just love "regular skiing" so much I can't bring myself to stop for anything but food, beer and the end of the day.

This all the way. Its like you have to spend a week of skiing days in the beginning of the season to get your mojo back.

Your mojo looks something like this, then doctor evil fucking takes it again.

personally i sometimes get scared keeping track of the speed for each jump if there's a line of them but they vary in speed... fast, faster, faster again/don't speed check? fine. but when one's fast, another's slow, etc etc it's mad annoying and i always feel like i gotta think about my speed more than the jumps themselves

actually, the best is when you have to carry as much speed as possible. gets you hyped up coming in, and no memory needed!

Listening to kids like you may be the hardest. Who gives a shit they are just learning front 2's and they happen to have a hoodie that cool kids like you wear. At least the kid is putting in the effort to try front 2's, he is most likely pretty stoked on freestyle skiing and maybe someday he will be going big. Everyone starts somewhere, so make it easy for those kids just learning and give them a break.

Rant of the day woot!

Not much of a poster lately, but thank you. I seriously think my, along with many other skiers' downfall, is because of shattered confidence. I see kids all the time, laughing at other people's outerwear, laughing because they missed a trick, hate on a NS edit. Shit sucks, because we as skiers are so damn critical of each other, there is always that hesitation due to the fear of failure. Kind of off topic rant, but thats my biggest weakness by far.

My bad if that came off as a being negative toward kids just getting into the scene. I just find it frustrating personally being a broke-ass college student working my ass off so I can pay for school and still afford to ski. Seeing younger kids with all the nicest gear that their parents bought for them just really grinds my gears.

I'd suggest giving fewer fucks what someone else has. It has no bearing on your own situation and really just wastes valuable brainwaves on being jealous.

Fuck, what I meant to say was watching kids in jiberish and full tilts hike a box all day DOING front 2s. Not learning. I realize now that I sounded like a complete douche bag hating on kids learning, and I apologize for that. It's the kids who learn one trick and do it over and over just to look cool, and never try anything new or progress that really piss me off. It's like they're doing it for the "Skier" image. Almost as bad as the "Skaters" who's best trick is carrying a board around and wearing tight jeans.

this. like at least for me... learning unnatural shit makes it look like your just learning, therefore i dont wanna look full retard

Explaining to people who aren't into snow sports that all teenagers don't snowboard now, and exactly what freestyle skiing is.

I never answered my own question before... But for me I would say that committing to new tricks can definitely be hard. Also, learning unnatural tricks without looking like you are all of a sudden way worse at skiing.

Overshooting a jump and seeing the end of the landing disappear beneath you and just going "Aw man.".

Oh, and getting bumfucked by your heelpiece sucks pretty bad too.

My favorite is when one ski falls off just as you land and you don't realize it and put your foot down. Too many times have I had my boot stick into the landing, pole vault over that leg, and end up in a pile at the bottom with friends laughing their asses off. Not saying it's not fun though haha

Or when your ski or poles fall off and you slide all the way down the landing and have to do the walk of shame back up to retrieve your items

being 2x the age and 1/2 as good as some of the kiddies out there

and somedays, you just aren't feeling it.

i'll save you the time, its a picture of Palpating smiling pedophile-ishly, with very generic box text, saying "let the butthurt flow through you". also, I feel no remorse for double posting.
