Most Dangerous - Rails or Jumps?

This year I started sliding rails and boxes. So far, my rail experiences have been more painful then jumps ever have been. Which do you guys think is more likely to result in injury? I did not use the search bar, so forgive me if this has been discussed before.

I think HUGE jumps are worse but for just little things, you can mess your self up on a rail more than a medium sized table (in my oppinion)

Jumps... because i dont suck at rails and overshooting or casing has destroyed me many times, when it works out though its hot.

rails are more painful but the most dangerous would be the jumps because you can easily brake a leg or maybe anything else if you fall badly.

falling on a rail and getting it right in the ass or in the face is damn more painful then falling on a jump...

shin bangs suck and i don't get them on rail.

but rail can be a lot painfull to if you fall on it. in fact, this thread is stupid

I kinda think that rails are more commonly painful, but I guess big jumps have possibility for the worst injury.

well rails you can destroy your package, but on jumps you can land on your head and stuff.

i'd say jumps are more dangerous

id rather wreck my self on a rail then a jump the rail might hurt for the day but a fall on a jump can hurt for years

a kid died in breck last year on a rail.

and dumont and tanner got hurt on huge jumps.

cr got landed on. that doesnt count. it was just a random accident.

jumps.

rail you can get cuts bruies break.

jump more worse injuries like head impact spinla column dammage ect.

jumps are worse.

Jumps would be the most likely thing to hurt yourself "long termly" on. But from a single day of skiing you can experience way more pain from rails than jumps. I guess it all depends on the situation.

well if u dont commit to a rail, especially when ur first tryin them people tend to always slam there hips and stuff and get bruises, but especially when u kno how to do rails the definetely seem much safer, but then theres urban..........

i smacked my face on a rail today. lol my friend said i should trade my giro for one of those racing helmets with the bar near ur jaw.

You guys keep saying that jumps are more dangerous and look at the people who have gotten hurt. But then again, those jumps are gigantic that they are injuring themselves on whereas most of the rails they slide are only a few feet of the ground. Its all proportions.

A big ass jump has more potential for really serious injury, but rails tend to cause more pain; at least it would seem so

Haha just today I was riding up the chair with a friend and I told him that it's fun to just get off the chair and just hit a rail without stopping or anything. So he said do it and I got off the chair, skied over to a down rail (little 3ft. gap onto it, snow very sticky, no run in) and caught my back ski, sacked myself very hard and belly floped onto the snow. Both nuts where in my stomach that day.

rails are so damn painful in the beginning, but i think jumps are def more dangerous, mostly on the east coast because of icy landings.

rails can get pretty dangerous like high steep ones but jumps can mess u up like if you get of axis or way out of it.

so yesterday, i tried my first seventwenty and ended up on my face with a bunch scrapes and i think i tore a muscle in my shoulder. I gotta hit up the hsopital for that one sometime. Then today, i nutted like a 4 ft high rail, definatley out of feet touching ground range. I would have to say, experienceing both, that the jump was worse, cause i cant even pick up my arm. i have to use my other one to pull it up. ill get the 7 tommorow

def get hurt alot more on rail, falling onto the landing of a 40-50ft isnt that bad, as long as you dont case or overshot mad.

how can people say that rails are more painful. i have done some heavy stuff on rails and i have only ever once hurt myself. jumps are scarier and i hurt myself more. but i guess most of you fuckers are from the east coast and you consider a big table like 20-30 feet

a rail might hurt more vs. a jump in this scenario:

jump= mellow 40 footer with long, steep landing on nice soft snow

rail=really steep quad kink with 14 foot hight railing and cheese grater steps over autobahn with traffic going 250 mph and miniature lava pits everywhere

otherwise, rails cause just non serious short term injuries
