Most common park injuries

I was wondering what injuries you guys leave with after a day of park skiing. i am usually bruised in my hips. (This is for a school project so i would appreciate any comments). Thanks guys!

acl seems to be way too common. always seems to happen when you least expect it. tore mine on a warm up trick on a mellow feature on an icy day.

I'd say #1 is tearing up the knees, then shoulders. and skiers thumb and concussions are big ones too.

My thoughts on most occurring to least occurring

Contusions and Abrasions

Shin Splints (Shin Bang)

Skier's Thumb

Concussion

Strains (anywhere)

Separated shoulder

Subluxed/Dislocated shoulder

Sprained knee (this includes tears)

Fractures

My back from tacoing rails. Happened last year and I pulled a muscle then I had to do situps for conditioning the next day. It was hell

Shin bang. As hard as you try to land well, when you're trying new stuff landing backseat always happens.

I'd say collarbones and shoulders are pretty common.

Obvs knees.

Concussions.

Bruised heels suck too, take forever to "heel"

without a doubt the most common actual injuries (bruising your hip and being a pussy doesnt count as an injury)

ACL's

popped out shoulders

skiers thumb

concussions

I always mess my thumbs up and leave with bruised hips.Never seem to stay hydrated enough so one bump on the head gives me a headache.

Constantly tweaking my shoulders when I go down.

Totally ACL tear. Eventually everyone is going to tear their ACL one way or another. or any of the CLs around your patella

you cant get a new meniscus. they can either stitch it together (depending on where it is) or they just remove the torn section

Bruising can actually turn into a serious problem if not treated properly, I agree little cuts and bumps aren't true injuries, but if you are repetitively hitting the same bruise and it doesn't heal properly, it could turn into Myositis Ossificans - bone growth in the muscle bruised.

Collarbones are pretty common for breaks.

I think the most common injury is hurt feeling though. Honestly that's probably the worst too. Broken bones and other injuries hurt, but you go to the hospital and they fix them. Hurt feelings might not seem that bad but you could be going to therapy for the rest of your life trying to shake the shame.

- 'blown' knees / ankles - concussion

- broken wrist

- dislocated shoulder

- skiers thumb

In terms of serious injuries, these are the big ones.

What'd you do now? Did they give you one of the sweet cooler packs that pumps ice water around your shoulder? If not you can have mine.

Dem bones

been there done that, i'm sorry. It seems that a lot of skiers have broken a clavicle or seperated a shoulder at one point or another, sometimes both at once, although I am told that is pretty rare.

actually though... probably one of the most painful injuries I have ever sustained from skiing.
