Most Affordable Ski Brands Out There?

What are some of the most affordable ski brands out there?

The ones I've stumbled upon so far are:

fat-ypus

Vishnu

Surface

Slant

Militia

Ninthward

Jskis (With pro discount)

That's just off the top of my head. I'm trying to find a verity to show my buddy who needs affordable gear to switch from snowboarding to skiing.

Those are decent companies, but there are some hidden gems in b/s/t from the expensive brands. Buying used binding/ski combos can save hundreds of dollars.

Wagner custom skis supaaa cheap, but I only ski the foil skis- oro nero with gold plated fks can't beat the performance at a very affordable price

sometimes buying the best stuff ends up being cheaper in the long run... look for anything bombproof and try to find a deal on that.

True that.

On3p

Tru, tell you what op, best of both worlds find some used ON3Ps, they'll probably still be in mint conditions and they'll continue to be bombproof.

HG is the BEES KNEES when it comes to durability and relatively cheap

buy a used pair of high quality skis. far and away the best way to get a cheap pair of good skis that you wont need to replace soon

A lot of ski companies company have a price point ski. Line had the mastermind, Surface had the blanks, Volkl had the ledge, etc. Most price point skis suck ass IMO. This past season, I rode Volkl Ledges (bought them for 200$) and Nordica OMWs (250$).

The Ledges held up for half a season before snapping my first day at Keystone.

The OMWs just plain fucking sucked all year round, but they're still rideable for maybe like half a season. Edges are beat to shit.

For this season, I've refused to buy shitty price point skis. I instead invested in a pair of Vishnu Wet's. They weren't even that expensive (400$) and I'm probably going to save more money in the long run.

yeah price point skis are stupid. saving 100 bucks isn't going to be worth a lower quality ski. buy used

Revision has some good deals. Skis are super light too! Feels like they aren't even there!

Don't buy revision they will fall apart and you won't get warrant. They're about to go out of business

You're welcome. I just saved you $700

lol revision isn't that expensive. I wasn't gonna buy any anyways. It was a joke. Learn to recognize them

what ive found out is that the cheaper skis are made more poorly. most of them just have the edges fall out. if you want to get into skiing for more than half a season you should invest in a nice pair

It wouldn't be a ski thread on NS if someone didn't mention ON3P even though they have nothing to do with the OP

You know, I've found that you can get pretty good deals on ON3P, and in the long run it is cheaper for a lot of people.

Cool. The OP is trying to get his buddy into skiing, not make him spend a decent amount and decide on a ski he wants for the next couple years.. Nothing against ON3P, just it literally doesn't fit the bill for the topic at hand

Hahahahahha okay but the bindings would show up nimrod. Go back to stalking lady gabber

Let's be honest, if anyone on this site stalks lady gabber it is probably you

I'm not saying you should buy ON3P for you first skis either, I'm just saying many people think they're super expensive, but I have 3 pairs of ON3P and I think I've spent around or less than $1k combined. Not bad at all and they're all in great condition.

RMU Rippahs are $399!
rmu-rippah-98-20

Affordable is really a relative concept that has everything to do with OP and almost nothing to do with the brand. OP think about what skis you really want. If you are debating between a couple of different skis then price is a factor. Of course save money and pick the best deal out of the skis you decide are the right skis to buy. If you get the ski you want then ski that you decide to buy will ultimately be the most affordable ski for you.
