Mormons Gone Wild!

but they said "Brother" like mormons do, so thats why i think it's fake. it is actually too far over the top to be real. swearing like that, and getting that upset that fast, and the girl yelling "you're going to hell" is a bit out of place too. F-A-K-E

that was actually really sad. making fun of someone for their personal choices and beliefs is not funny, nor should it be tolerable in our society. those nice mormons were only trying to invite those other guys to a simple get together, and it turned into fuckin warfare because those college assholes thought it would be funny to throw balloons at them. thats just wrong. no one deserves that.

Wow...that was pretty realistic until the Mormons started swearing. It was sort of a funny parody, I guess, but I'm like 99% sure it's fake.

sorry but mormons have already taken over utah. their political and social influence on this state (Utah) is rediculous. and to hoho420, mormons deserve every bit of harassment for being the most ignorant s.o.b.'s ever, besides Bush ofcourse. seriously they have the most close minded ideologies of any religion/subculture i've encountered. take a walk around temple square sometime if ur in UT and talk to a missionary, they suck at life.

Your not understanding what im saying. I don't like mormons. okay? i've read under the banner of heaven, I have read all there is to know about mormonism (including the book of mormon). I'm not mormon myself, and i do not like mormons. But what i was talking about up there is simple tolerant treatment of human life. And besides, who are you to decide who should be harassed for their beliefs? Thats exactly the way fucking, fundamentalist terrorist factions train their suicide bombers and killers to think. "Oh, lets kill them because they are ignorant. and they should not act the way they do, so lets attack them for no apparent reason." Fuck you. You should not attack someone just cause they believe something different than you, or they act in wierd ways. The only time you should EVER get pissed at a mormon is if they push their religion on you or do something offensive. Mormons are generally nice people. And we should treat them like that.

SLC is more diverse than it's ever been. Voting Rocky Anderson as mayor was a HUGE step in the right direction. There are more and more people from California and other surrounding areas moving to SLC to get away from the over-population they encounter. Sort of like Phoenix back in the mid-90's. Not to mention all the New England transplants who moved here to ski. You would honestly be hard-pressed to "feel" the Mormon influence unless you went looking for it.

Provo on the other hand, is a different story.

And lastly, that video was fucking hilarious...

honestly that stereotype that mexicans are lazy is so false they work their asses off in construction and shit

yeah speaking of stereotypes, you just said that mexicans worked in construction. Hey look at Carlos Mencia hes pretty trashy and some asshole got him a job continuing the downward spiral of TV programming

ok I'm seeing a lot of people that don't really know what they're talking about and just saying what they think. First of all that was either fake, or they weren't mormons because as sombody said early on mormon missionarys don't go out in boy/girl pairs. and second they don't just call random people "brother" If they know the person they sometimes call them brother anderson or whatever their name is. And also at the end the one guy acctually said they where jehova's witness

i wonder how many people actually commenting on this thread live in utah...i have for 2 winter seasons. last winter i worked up at alta, also living mid mountain. you did not feel their influence up there, ofcourse. however, now that i live down in the valley, and am going to school, i can honestly say they have much more influence than what people would think. every single one of my teachers is mormon, and you can certainly tell simply by their conservative opinions if you ever debate with them. mormons also definitely control where the money goes, not the f'in gov. also hoho420, terrorists overseas are reactive to other cultures and nations (U.S. in particular ofcourse)trying to change/shape/influence middle eastern culture. terrorism isnt occurring to change westerners' beliefs, they just want us to get the fuck out. i saw a pic one time of a middleeastern woman with a sign that said "freedom of expression is western terrorism". not that i fully agree with that statement, but it makes you think. hoho420 fuck you, if you only knew.

^ Mormons do not control the money in Utah. That is an extremely ignorant statement. If by "control" you mean alot of our state representatives are Mormon, and we pay their salaries through our tax dollars, than, yes, you'd be right. Unfortunately, this is the same throughout all 50 states.

The church gains it's money through donations from it's followers (10% of their yearly income, last time I checked). If that's the way they want to spend their money, great (it is stupid, though), it has no influence on our local and state government anymore than a bible slapping, baptist from the South would have in Alabama.

You're honestly reaching for something to argue or complain about. As usual, an exaggeration.

Oh yeah, I've lived in PC/SLC since 1989...

jfuller, you are correct, slc is as diverse as ever. unfortunately its diversity is mainly poor, undereducated hispanics. mormons still control politics b/c they're disgustingly rich. also all these northeastern transplants mostly live up in alta or at the mouth of the canyon, dont really give a fuck about politics here, they came for the snow.

^^mormons certainly do control the money, and where the money goes in this state. the smoking ban in bars is a perfect example. also, utah has been republican in the electoral ballot for many, many years, mainly b/c of mormons and their conservative values. also, i've noticed that if u r not a mormon, and are running for election of some position, you are in the wrong state because it extremely likely you will not get elected, for the most part.

also jfuller, unless you grew up in this state, you are way too old to be on this site, unless you dont have much else to do. if you did happen to grow up in this state, you are one lucky bastard to grow up around this snow. plus i live downtown, not in pc where the mormon influence is much more dramatic.

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!? Shit, that was a running joke we had during soccer with a kid on our team that is a devoted Mormon... WHY DID THEY STEAL IT! NOOO!!!

A more dramatic influence in Park City??? You have to be joking right? PARK CITY?

As far as their "influence" in politics, your example is pretty sub-par. The smoking ban is a law being enforced nation-wide. California, Massachussets, New York, Colorado, etc, have already implemented it. Last time I checked, you can still smoke in bars in Utah. It has nothing to do with the Mormon religion.

And as far as not being able to hold office unless you're LDS, again, take a look at Rocky Anderson, the Mayor of SLC, who has been in office for 2 terms now. He's been elected TWICE. Party staus? LIBERAL DEMOCRAT.

If you have issues with the state or your city, quit trying to blame it on Mormons. Get involved. DO SOMETHING.

No, I'm not Mormon, and yes, I think it's a bullshit religion. But they're not the source of your angst.

And I did grow up here smart ass, and I live in the valley, too...

You're also generalizing WAY too much. So every Nor' Easter you know are the only ones here? I live with one. And know quite a few in the valley and PC.

And diverse meaning un-educated Mexicans??? That's just plain stupid. This state has more and more people moving here from surrounding states, who hold down some serious job titles. This is a great place to live and for most who are sick of the conjestion where they are (LA anyone?) it's a way out of that.

And tourism is by far the state's biggest source of income. So it's only natural that alot of these transplants would be involved in the winter-sports industry.

Not to mention, look at the influx of companies moving here or alreay are:

Rossignol, Dynastar, Look, Lange, DNA, Salomon, 4frnt, etc. Do you think some of those bigger companies would re-locate here if this was such a monetarily controlled state by Mormons? Or even the smaller ones???

See, you need to relax and let Mormons worry about mormons...

All the people whinning that Utah is controlled by mormons should maybee stop and think. Maybee it's because 90 percent of the citisens are mormons. It's a democracy so the laws and what not are built to fit the inhabitants. If you don't like it get out

jfuller, first off i said the influence is felt more downtown than pc, dipshit. you'd have to retarded to say otherwise, and that's why i didnt. if the smokin ban doesnt satisfy you: 3.2% beer, age limit 19 for purchasing cigs as well as 21 to work at a gas station. did i mention kegs are illegal? wtf. i said UNDEReducated hispanics, not uneducated. there are plenty moving here with decent jobs and what not, but hispanics are by far the largest minority living and moving into this state, look at west valley city for christ's sake. if you think otherwise, then you are just plain stupid. you are right about rocky anderson. however answer me this: when's the last time utah voted democrat on the presidential electoral ballot? go talk to a mormon sometime, and ask what they think about our tax money being spent on overseas imperialism... I'm SURE they'll say its a waste of money. also companies move here because its a skiing mecca, not b/c whether mormons have monetary control or not.also to AndrewT, your statement of "if you dont like it get out" reminds me of America's concept of "love it or leave it" which is extremely ethnocentric, and part of the reason why the US is hated the world over, shame on you. i stand by my statement that mormons are ignorant, ofcourse they shouldnt be harassed. however its hard not to harass when they wake you up in the morning trying to convert you, and wont take no for answer. this is NOT fake, and has indeed happened to me 3 times since last august. my american civilization teacher told our class theres some old law in louisiana i believe, or some state around there i'm not sure, that says its legal to shoot a mormon. ofcourse this law is ancient and does not apply to today, but it makes you question why such a law was created in the first place. mormons believe that their material wealth is a sign from god that they are the chosen ones which is absolutely idiotic, however the rest of christianity is based on charity, sharing, humbleness, and being happy with what you have, and doesnt say anything about material wealth. makes you think.

by the way notice the sarcasm in the sentence that i'm sure they'd say its a waste of money. i dont want you making mistakes on your reading again, jfuller. also it was a compliment that you grew up here, well for the most, so fuck you mang.
