I wonder how long it will be before someone in the northeast jumps on board with one of these type places.

Over in the UK they use them for pipe, jumps, even bumps. I remember some guy on here saying that it didn't hurt anymore than falling on regular snow.

i don't know, i've heard stories that it can cut you up pretty bad. also, though, i meant that your landings would have to be pretty spot on, and you couldn't really work on new stuff unless you knew what you were doing

This is true snowflex is super good to land on. They put padding underneath the top layer to make it softer for the landings. Also the top layer is pretty soft and not sharp at all.

Where the other guys are getting confused is the other sort of matting we use in the uk which is like tooth brushes... that shit really hurts if you bail.

That's pretty much everything I've heard. Hell, it sounds more favorable than most of the mid-winter east coast landings!

The snowflex stuff at woodward will cut you up pretty good if you fall on it... not that its "sharp" its like sliding across rough carpet, sure its padded... but dont kid yourself, it still hurts to fall on it.

Dude i ski on this stuff all the time. On exposed skin it will mess you up a little bit but no more than a nasty icy landing will.
