More newschool skiers need to mtn. bike

Me and my homie just watched MSP's new freeride mtn. bike flick, 'Disorderly Conduct'. We came to the conclusion that although the sport is so rad, more skiers/snowboarders need to start mtn. biking (freeride, not so much cross country). The reason why, is cause the sport is pretty much devoid of any style.

Most of the tricks are derived from redneck motocross. The tricks are pretty cool, I guess freeride bikers seem to be stuck somewhere between hippies and rednecks. I really wish the scene would progress and have a more unique steeze.

On another note, what the hell is with MSP's choice of music??? It blew nuts in that movie we watched. They borrowed songs from Focus. Someone really needs to clue them in.

'Ear me nah, bloodclot lickle rude bwai, nahmesay, ya knaw?

MSP, is that matchstick? Yea there music is always the gayest, they never use anything underground.

I really enjoy mtn biking, I can't afford a 2 g bike right now, but I got a decent cross country one that i ride freestyle on and is used as my transportation.

i agree. freeriding is more like back country skking. if you watch riders like darren barecloth (former BMXer), aron chase, and alot of the bike park, skate park, or yrban riders, they have tons of style. i would like to comment, that that 180 step up in that movie was amazing. that was very skierish. but still, they are different sports. mt biking is just more hardcore, while skiing is more laid back.

i looked on google but all i could find was 3D Animation porn-sxmarty6

ECS headwear, hit me up!

Do you even bike^? But there were a couple of dudes that used to be bmx riders who were throwing 3's and alleyoops.

'Ear me nah, bloodclot lickle rude bwai, nahmesay, ya knaw?

my comment was to 'itskiertime'.. Yeah, that stepup 180 was so smooth. That is what I am talking about... more of that stuff.

Less of these hippy bikers wearing black socks that come up to their shins, and old vans shoes.

'Ear me nah, bloodclot lickle rude bwai, nahmesay, ya knaw?

Go out and buy the Collective. That movie oozes style. Good sound, great cinematography. One of the nicest action sports films I have ever seen. And it makes you wanna fuckin rip!

Eastcoast... I could murder you... why the hell do you think I am giving it a bad name?????? If the tricks aren't derived from motocross, then where are all these no footed can cans, and supermans coming from? Shut up faggot.

'Ear me nah, bloodclot lickle rude bwai, nahmesay, ya knaw?

because motocross stole them from bmx in the first place. they are simply copying bmx, like many mtn bikers do.

Rubber Ducky steeze, awwwwww!

sorry boys, there was no pro hoeing-skibrdingbtch

However, they are little bitches that haven't even heard of metal edged skis or the clitoris-twintipteles

1. old vans are key. has i occured to you there might be a reason people wear them?

2. like east coast said, the tricks are from bmx mostly

3. name one thing that is remotely redneck about freeride

yuck, you'll be known as the pussy from this day on if you do that. Do something manly, like cut her initials into your chest or something.

the reason most of the songs in their mtn bike videos are the same as ski video songs is cause MSP, unlike other smaller companys like L1 actually buys the rights to their songs and it probably costs them, so they figure they might as well save money and make the most out of a song.

Yo motha fucka you dont have style. I have style. Learn to ride a hardtail and dirtjump, then go ride. Newschoolers has a bike forum too

whoever started this thread is a dumbass. Its not even close to being redneck. Liek someone else said it all derives from bmx. I also think that anyone getting into mountain biking dshould ride street, not urban (stairset and so-on) street as in bmx stuff (aboubacas, foufanus, park stuff, and a ton of techie stuff) this aspect of the sport does have style (you wouldnt notice it if you werent a rider) but it has a ton and it pisses me off when people say it doesnt. You can get a dope street setup for like $700. So ride street bitches

Mountain biking is rad. it keeps you fit, you meet new people, get more feeling for air and speed. Anything that you can do on a Bmx you almost do on a mtb bike.

i like riding urban shit and tricking with it. watching the guys to trails in town or toss a 3 of a 5 set stair looks sweet...i wish i knew how to twist a bike like that

I agree with LaneMyers, I saw The Collective for the first time last week, and it is incredible!

I think that biking is beautiful to watch, and DH is all about charging hard, while things like street biking and dirtjumping really don't leave you with the most options 'style-wise,' and Ithink it would look pretty gay if people started doing tweaked out TOE grabs or something when doing a no-hander on a dirt jump.

hmm.. i never saw disorderly conduct since this year they decided to have the premier at a bar... and ski/bike movies are so GODDAMN expensive. i would like to see more ski/board inspiration in bikng though. Like imagine a cork 3 on a mtb. Of course i won't be the one to do it cuz i kinda suck at biking but i love it. biking does need more ski style.

I owuld also like to point out the fact that there is a 'non-ski gabber forum' for threads like this.

i don't have a bike and we always just wakeboard

How can you have ski style on a bike? Do you do grabs and stuff- that would suck. If you want style then watch the collective possibly the best shot and stylish sports film ever. I ride and I do some street but if you were just starting why just do street? 'You can do almost anything you can on a bmx' and street bikes cost $700. Why not buy a bmx they have tonnes of style. Mountain biking is all about variety.

Jesus, not one person on this site has a clue about anything. I'm just going to pretend this thread was never created.

I do bike... I ride a Kona Stinky Primo...I love it.. it is the other skiing...I have seen the COllective. The point of the original post is that I think if more newschool skiers biked, it would add a radder style to the sport. Thats it.

'Ear me nah, bloodclot lickle rude bwai, nahmesay, ya knaw?

no style? watch the collective.

No Sir Mr. 2na, I can't burn the blunt

I remember the last time and have a good time

I DH in whistler 100 days every summer for the past 4 years...Mtn biking is the shit...some of the stunts they have up here would make you cry like a small child when you saw them...Its such a sick crossover from skiing. Plus you gotta have balls and lots of gear, becuase you can really fuck your shit up if you lose the handle...

Anyways, MSP mountainbike flicks are big budget, lots of eyecandy, but lack style. I just stopped watching them. If you ever want to see a good DH movie get The Collective. The cinematography blows any video Ive ever seen out of the water, plus the sickest soundtrack too...

Ok the Collective is obviously the best mountain bike movie ever created seeing literally anyone who rated it, rated it perfect. We all know it's the best so stop trying to relate it to MSP movies.

Yeah, you could buy a mountain bike and try to copy simple bmx tricks, or you could just buy a bmx bike and do the real thing.

I dont know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

how can a skier help a mountain biker with style? its two completely different comments. you dumbass. most skiers think they have a really good style, which is actually really shitty, so even if it was possible to help, they couldnt.

big there we have it you ride dual...we all knwo people that ride dual have no style what so ever...adn CANDIDEFAN thank you for agreeing with me...bigystyle is a dickface and is just being gay about a sport he most likely sucks at judging from his coments

ok heres the real deal about bmx biking- its dying! go watch the movie jib ir jib 2 and u will see some seriously progressive mtb riding. (if your too cheap for that go to www.lizardskins.com and then go to media) with this whole dirtjump/street thing, mtb and bmx riders are figuring out that they can merge both sports and progress biking in an entirely different way and theres tons of style. thats why now you can watch riders like steve romaniak and tyler klassin throw no footed cans on their big downhill rigs going over a 20 ft gap. i think that mountain biking influences any sport just because of its progressive nature. like if u were to look back on the sport and see how much larger some of the stuff is, it just makes you wana stick your nose to the grindstone and work at your own thing. another wicked movie to pick up to see what im saying is genesis- this film was way ahead of its time.

if bmx is dying, then why did transworld keep ride bmx and transworld bmx while scrapping freeze? bmx is just as vibrant as mtn biking, and a good deal of the riders i know have more style than a good deal of people in any sport.
