More JibLife hype (The game might be done)

No, actually KS projects do not withdraw funds from credit cards unless the set amount is reached, meaning you don't lose anything if you pledge and it falls through.

Donated $5.

I'm just gonna pray that Tom Wallisch donates his prize money from winning this year towards Jib Life :D

Everyone should donate at least $5. Hate if you want, but you have absolutely no justifiable reason to.

not anymore.

QUESTION does anyone have an extra $5 in their paypal that they wouldnt mind going to jiblife? I has no money, and if anyone has 5 extra bucks that they want to go to jiblife but dont wanna pledge the next tier they could give it to me so i could..... longshot but whatever its worth a try

Are you fucking kidding me? They have been in the "early stages" of development for eight years now. They are asking me to donate on their word (which they have time and time again not followed through on) and I dont even get to play the game. Plus when the game is actually released it will only be rails! Fuck rails I want to hit jumps and I can guarantee jumps are another year down the road at least!

Let me get this straight. If i donate more than five dollars right now, then do i get to play the coc level now or is that not until they reach the pledge?

I don't think you understand how difficult developing a legit game is. Have you ever developed a game, I don't think so. Developing a game is the most frustrating thing a person can go through besides being unable to get a boner. There are so many times during the developing process where you want to do something, but you just can't make it do what you are thinking. I've made small games before, and it took me slightly over 8 months to make one. Just because of trouble making it do what I want it to do. Sometimes you do exactly what you think will make it work, but it just doesn't turn out right. EA Sports develops games so quickly because they have thousands of people working on each game. My bet is JibLife has tried to do some stuff, but have just not been able to do exactly what they have in their minds. And, JibLife has a smaller group of programmers than EA does.

Point is, developing a game is very difficult and frustrating. It's not just typey typey BOOM game. It is so much trial and error to make it do what you want it to do. And I've been developing with easy languages like Java, and that's for a tiny game and it still takes me forever.

I never said it wasnt hard or frustrating. I just dont want any more promises that are not full filled and I am very skeptical that we will see a worth while version of this game come april.

Sooo they released absolutely nothing new and only asked for MORE MONEY.

Fuck you Jib Life, I'm not falling for it again.

I don't like your attitude, statements that are negative about skiing or any part of it are what make this site hard to fucking go on anymore. You aren't the only person that is bummed about the time this has taken, but give these guys a fucking break. I don't get why you feel so entitled to the world when it comes to a video game about skiing....

I dont feel entitled and I never said that. I just dont get why they wouldnt wait one more month and then say "hey if you give us 5 dollars you can play our beta version" as opposed to "hey give us five dollars and maybe you will get to play the beta version in a month"

Probably because they need money to publish the beta version, which takes time. If you don't like it, then stop being such a negative nancy.

$30,000 seems excessive because you're probably in high school. $30,000 is a low-end annual salary in any kind of professional field, and doesn't go far when you have adult expenses. Assuming they have several people working on this game, that probably only buys them a few months each at a liveable wage (which I doubt they're giving themselves).

They have no publisher support as far as I know, so aside from the sponsors, this is their only way of supporting themselves while they focus on making the game.

It doesn't say you get access to the game right away if you donate $5.It says Estimated Delivery: Apr 2012

Don't complain that you didn't get the game right away. It gives an expected date for all the perks for each donation.

Yes. They dont take any of your money until they reach the $30,000. If that doesnt happen then they never charge you.

I love how it says "EARLY LAUNCH" as the video title........ Yea if they mean what 4 years late then call it early haha.

If you released game right now, not several years ago, everyone would be stoked and put their money on game. Now it just is a joke.

You say that now, but when it comes out, you will put down amped two and realize this is fucking awesome. I dont think any of you 14 year olds realize what goes into a game.

Im putting money down on job life, because its a fucking awesome product, and they need cash because they dont have a publisher. Im stoked, cant wait to play.

Neither does Jibb, a game created on the same Unity Engine. Yet they're not asking for money, or have overhyped their product for years on end with false promises.

JIBB 2012

ALWAYS COUNT ON JIBB

So, if you won't reach the 30k point, will you still release the game or a demo in due time, or will you start another KS project to try to get the funds you oh so need?

im really stoked on what jib life is doing. but im not in a rush to throw money at them just yet. I would either need a demo ( i know they want to refine everything before that ) or more media showcasing the progress and not just a bit of art .

Thats the thing, its made by the people who made jiberish. God knows when that will come out, and I dont think the product will be as quality, because there is NO money behind the project. Don't get me wrong, im stoked on both games, but thats just how I see it.
