there is a natural cycle in the climate that we don't understand because we have only had satilites for 50 years and weather records for about 200. the amount of carbon dioxide also fluctuates during every 200 years too. the problem is that that was when the industrial era started and humans started burning fossil fuels. Humans began domesticating animals too a bit earlier which raised the amount of methane in the atmoshphere to. The hotter that the weather gets, the more violent the storms will become. the result will either be that the earth becomes something like venus where the greenhouse effect is so large that the temperature is about 280* F. this will last about 200 years or until the carbon dissolves. the atmosphere would be so thick that world would not get any sunlight. this would cause the planet into a global cooling. the other result is that the melting of ice will cause the water to cool forcing the warm water more south creating more storms that come north to produce snow. the water will than freeze and the ice age will begin.

yes I do have something new to say.

All the media love making things like global warming 10 times worse than they are. so all you kids who are "OMG!! ABC new says were gonna die cause of global warming" need to relieze that abc probably is making the story bigger than it is because they want more viewers.

However(im not sure if this is true) a bigger long term problem were facing is that the moon is moving further and further away from the earth, and it will cause the earth to have more storms, natral disasters, temp problems, etc.
 
yes global warming is happening, and that is a definate thing. The only thing is were tlking about 3-5 degrees in the next 50-100 years. Althought most of the snow at the top of kilomajaro(sp?) is melting so it could happen to us.

ANSWER:

Global Warming is very real and a bigger problem than any of you can comprehend. Want to know why you can't comprehend it? Because we've only been on earth for a few thousand years. Humans have only been "modern" for a few hundred. Know how long the Earth has been around? Somewhere along the lines of 5 Billion years or more. I'm trying to keep this as simple as possible...so bear with me kiddos.

Now, to most of you, 100 years seems like forever, literally. As in, to most of you, 100 years is just a number that doesnt mean anything, its too far in the future.

The reality is, 100 years is nothing, not even a blink of an eye, not even the thought of blinking an eye. When scientists in Europe say the earth is warming 2-5 degrees every 100 years because of excess CO2 in the atmosphere, it doesnt get any more dramatic than that. That is a RAPID and violent temperature change in the long term scale. This means that in 200-300 years, large parts of the earth will be drastically different than the way they look today, and who knows what will happen then. It does not take much to throw off the chemical balance of earth's atmosphere, it really is a special balance of chemical reactions.

So, there's your answer. The reason you guys laugh and call those scientists paranoid liberals is because you just don't understand and don't have any concept of time and universe beyond your own little, selfcontained sphere of influence. In the last 200 years, humans have destroyed half the forests and most of the rivers on the planet. Once again, thats less than a heartbeat. In two thousand years, at this rate, humans will be gone, and we will have been less than a footnote on the history of earth. Having come and gone in a flash

Well here is it, in the polar see's there is an abundance of nutriets for planktonic growth except for one, Iron, by adding powdered iron to the seas it would cuase an explosion in planktonic growth, for those of you who don't know plakton use atmospheric C02 as a building element in their bodies. It is estimated that one pound of iron could sequester like 20,000 pounds of C02.

One leading scientist said that if he was given a tanker of iron to spray into the seas, he would give us an ice age.
