More girls need to ski.

obvioulsy more girls need to ski. I think it would really help if all the girls that already ski show all the other girls how cool skiing is. Cuz for some reason girls are very worried about the opinions of other girls so i htink this should work.

Yah um I've tried to get girls that ski at my school to get into the park and they see videos of me/my ski movies and their like 'Oh my god no, I'd fall right on my face.' and then proceed to tell me how horrible of a skier they are and some childhood memory of them crashing into a tree and never skiing again because they were too scared. I've heard it all from girls.

It sucks too, because I've offered to teach them too.

 
a lot of girls are very critical of themselves and are very self consious of what other people think. if girls stopped being self consious im sure there would be a lot more of them out there.

i've only been able to find a hand full of girls that will ski with me. i think girls are worried about what they will look like if they fall. personally i would be more embarrassed chickening out of something then falling. i think there are a lot more skiers girls now then there were a five years ago.

 
i was walking down the hall the other day and i looked over and saw a huge poster of jermey bloom in some girls locker, so i was like whoa hi you ski? and she was so offended with me and was like uhhh no, wtf? and i was like oh ok, it's just he's a skier. she looked so i dunno it was funny tho.

there is about 4-5 girls who ski on my mountain. about 2 of us ski park. i would love for more girls to get into it

yeah, there are definatly a ton of chicks gettin into it, and its sweet. the park is such a sausage fest, its definatly needed. but seriousy, there are a ton of girls who rip harder than alot of guys and its sweet.

just a side note... this thread has been done a million times. i don't think its necessarily girls worrying about what people will think but more girls being critical of themselves.

all the girls i know race as well, and they're not really people i enjoy being around. and then the only other girl with twin tips doesn't go much anymore so i end up skiing with her twin brother. so this means i'm always skiing with the boys and it's very intimidating trying to learn stuff because they're all really good and laugh and make fun of me when i eat it

^^^^michelle i agree. girls do that all the time when i talk about skiing. i know girls that ski, they just have NO interest in park or anything more than skiing down the same hill 50,000 times in a row. they arent willing to expand their horizons or push themselves... so annoying.

But definitely agreed... I wish there were more girls invloved. There is something really attractive about a female who shares the same intense interest in something that you have... like freeskiing. When I see chicks on twins I am like 'damn! sweet!'

hmm.. aight im a girl.. i snowboard and ski.. and im deffinatly way better at snowboarding than skiing.. there is deffinatly a larger number of girls who can rip on a snowboard than on skiis around here... honestly i have no clue why... i think learning freestlye on skis is more fun than on a board..i have noo clue why so little girls ski.. i know id deffinatly do it more if i had some more ladies to ski with + id push me to go bigger b/c id wanna be top o the crop haha

 
yea when i ski with girls it pushes me to try new things and to try harder where as when i ski with guys i feel like i'm holding them up and just looking like a fool...but i find myself skiing mostly by myself which isn't half bad...but i still like skiing with other girls more

and when i ski i wanna ride with girls b/c theyd push me more..

but i really couldnt explain why

yeh i'm trying to get my girl friends in the park, they think it's really cool, when they watch the movies and stuff like that, but they don't try anything, so i'm doing rails and stuff and they are just watching or do something else (watching tv). But that's right., more girls in the park. Last time it was me and 20 guys..!!

 
tried toget my little sister to do a ride on but she couldnt make it down into the park

well im from the east and at our mountain there are more n more girls getting into it. but i think its kinda normal for some girls not to get into hucking and grinding because its to much for them to handle. like they would rather look at the dudes than do what they are doing mainly because they dont want to get hurt. but from my experience here the more girls doing it the more want to get involved.

It can definatly be frustrating I am the only girl that I ever see in the park on skis and it would definatly help if there were other girls but while there aren't many you can't let it hold you back just learn from the guys who are in there. No reason to be scared of them!!
