More bad News =( ....Marc Andre Belliveau Injured in BC!!!

Wow. I feel like I am just bring in loads and loads of bad news....

Word is Marc Andre Belliveau was seriously injured today while filming in the Interior of British Columbia.

He was airlifted to a hospital in Vancouver.

No word yet on his condition, I will update when more becomes available.

This year has just been too much regarding injury and death. Everyone, be careful.
 
goddam. marc andre is a great guy and an amazing yet underrated skier. theres one guy that really dosnt deserve to have his season ended.
 
what an understatement! and good call. Nobody gives Marc Andre any love, but he is one of the best skiers out there right now
 
i seriously cant even believe what is going down.....

DC and his buddy yesterday, MAB now, CR early, EJ at the tele extremes a week ago....plus the other fatalites.

Stuff is getting way to real.
 
what no this can't be true marc is such an awsome skier and sooo funny damn it plz keep us updated and what happendd to the teller
 
just read about this on the TGR board and came here to see if anyone was talking about it. This is a horrible couple days for the ski world, I hope that Marc pulls through fine, the ski world can't take many more of these losses this year.
 
noone is invinceable (and no, i'm not a dick, just sencitised)

i'm actually suprised that this isn't happening in snowboarding... they don't seam to be having nearly as much major accidents as skiing has been lately.

but it does seam like this winter has been full of injury/death (local and pro)
 
damn man that's brutal, Marc Andre is the shit, I remember way back in the 2000 US open he was throwing huge switch fronts, that guy has mad steeze. Lets just hope he has a quick and full recovery, this season has been so full of tragedy. I think what we may be seeing is the largely inevitable result of endless and fanatical emphasis onprogression, I don't mean to imply I'm against progression (by any means!) but the endless quest to do things bigger and faster and burlier cannot help but result in an increase in the regularity of injuries and deaths.
 
I have mad respect for him, I saw him rip a line in Wolverine Cirque only about a month ago and he killed it. He is one of the best out there, and a super nice guy. He will be back.

Doug Coombs and one of his skiing partners were killed in a fall in La Grave yesterday.
 
crichton is really sick though. he has some crazy condition, he is out for a long time, if not forever.

Marc andre is one of the funniest people ive ever met, and did i see something about Doug Coombs being killed?????!!

Coombs and Chad were killed in a fall, possibly caused by an avalanche or ice.
 
really? Didn't see that anywhere on TGR....maybe your confusing the thread about Doug Coombs.

Not to fuel the rumor mill....but word is that he fell and tomahawked down a line, possibly seriously injuring his back. Not going to post anything more until it is actually confirmed.

All I can say now is postive vibes, thoughts and prays to Marc Andre. This type of injury is terrifying. You're in my thoughts.
 
to say the least. when i broke my back, i was writhing around on the ground in pain, unable to breathe because the wind was knocked out of me, but the only thing i cared about was checking to make sure my feet could still move. it was the scariest experience of my life and i would never wish that upon anyone.

what REALLY worries me is that, last i heard, Marc is still in the hospital. when i broke my back, i partially crushed a vertebra and broke a rib and was out of the ER in about 3 hours. if Marc's still in the hospital, i would speculate that things are VERY serious. definitely pray for this guy!
 
This is an update of what is available at the moment

Marc Andre took a fall near Nelson, BC. Currently, he is in the hospital with a broken back. Pretty sure he had a surgery last night. The concern is whether or not he will suffer any paralysis.

This is just horrible. More positive vibes to him. Hope hope hope hope hope he isn't paralyzed...
