^^ya, hes from virginia.but i dont really get ur comment on the east.telemarking is pretty big, and growing. i dont get much hate from easterners.
 
so the video is pretty dope looks like tele can be pretty sweet but i want my hell clicked in at all times
 
^ hehe, ya telemarking is one of those things that u really have to want to do if u want to learn. i have been on free hell gear my whole life. i have never even been clipped in on alpine skis before.

can someone please explain to me how you land switch on tele skis?

i dont understand how you dont just land on your face...
 
it's not as difficult as you'd think... first off if you're skiing park with tele the cartridges (binding depending) you'd be using would be stiff as all hell and really dialled up compared to what you'd use to do some touring and ski powder. and then of course just where you put your weight when you land, obviously if you land really far forward then it won't turn out too well, but if you centre your weight more to the back when landing switch then it's very much do-able
 
tele bindings have cartridges in them. so if your standing on flat and you lift your foot off the ground the ski doesnt just flop to the ground. it is much harder to land switch on teles but can be done, the bindings arent completly lose so you dont just fall on your face.
 
for all of you fucks who think tele is lame, you need to remember that tele was created before fixed heel bindings. its the original and first way to that people have skied.
 
i dont telebut i think it's ill and have always wanted to try it, just never got the money to get a new setupit's i different approach to snowsports which i think is fairly cool
p.s. i'm from the east, and there are a shitload of tele skiers out there, and those who don't tele don't think its dumb either...so don't hate on the east
 
Thats true, but if you go by that logic then skiing on 16 foot long hand carved trees would be the most badass thing ever. And I guess there's nothing uncool about that, but we have new technology for a reason.

Teleing is similar. It has its time and place (BC, powder, etc.), but I don't see it having any advantages in the park.

But, to each his own.
 
very carefully.land centered on your feet, then slide a knee down- helps me balance, plus it just looks cooler to see freeheelers actually tele switch rather than be on tele skis doing alpine turns switch.
 
im from vt and mad people tele. thats how u get to the really good pow a day after the storm. all the runs and woods off of lift access gets tracked int he first day after a storm but ignorant park tools are too lazy to hike and postholing really pisses everyone off. soooo there for tele is the way to be if ur trying to get to the dope snow and smoke the tree.

mad props to guys who rip em inthe park too. shits hard
