Montec is lame as fuck, change my mind

They make shitty outerwear first of all. Second I don’t think they sponsor any serious athletes whether skier or boarder. They’re a sub division of a parent company that has other lame brands too. Looking on their website they’re staff pictures are all wearing the same pair of googles… do any of the staff actually partake in winter sports? Idk. Hit me with your thoughts and opinions ns

I only own a jacket because someone gifted it to me. Meh, just your average jacket nothing special, the company in general is just lame.

I have been seeing a shit ton of “dope” jackets and gear. Which i think is even worse than montec, the name is just cringe

Both montec and dope just look like pure shit. Garbage brands. Quintessential Texan that thinks he’s cool would ride a ruroc, montec gear, and apex boots skiing on pontoons.

Is it just me or montec just appeared out of nowhere?

I had never heard of them until this season when I saw shit load of person wearing it at my home montain.

Nah they have been in europe for years

The jackets aren't even that bad but holy shit literally every other person at the resort has them now.

I don't understand why people would ever buy shit off an instagram add. Like bro, you know that shits getting piped out by an algorithm to 300,000 other people. Have an original idea for me one time

I actually like the style of Montec and Dope. And Fabio Studer and Jesper Tjäder are both athletes who could aswell be sponsored by TNF or any other big outerwear company.

But there are way to many idiots who wear these.

Disregarding the style wouldn’t you say as brands in our type of skiing montec/dope are pretty lame though? I feel like it’s not an original style either at least with most of their pieces I seen but could be wrong.

Pumping a ton of money into google search priorities actually works

Montec is brilliant tbh, their jackets look decent enough for the above average Texan to look like they know what’s up among their fellow jerry brethren. Shit just get the full “I ski the Blacks look”

montec/dope jacket

ruroc helmet or zionor goggles

DPS ski or Soul 7

Im gonna buy that stuff in bulk and sell it as “The Local Shredder” bundle on marketplace in the greater Dallas area. Thanks for the idea op

Any pic of the behind? I’d eat that ass!! Let’s get a nose on that folks

I got a pair of bibs two seasons ago because they were cheap, and to see what they were all about. They've held up really well actually. Not amped to support an instagram brand, but it's not a bad product. Just doesn't appear to have roots in the industry so they get hated on. Dope is dumb for sure, same shit worse name it seems like.

I have some Black Diamond bibs on the way, although that's probably still not core enough.

Lol it looks better than the track pants and hoodies I see all over the park these days. I cant speak for the durability and value of their stuff tho.

but I only like flylow for the bibs

I got a malone jacket for sale on evo and it kept me bone dry skiing in the rain today. Flylow makes really good gear

Flylow also makes an effort of trying to support up and coming freeriders. For tons of guys and gals on the FWT, Flylow is one of their first sponsors. They do a great job of supporting rising athletes in the industry. It’s a far cry from Dope/Montec who markets via instagram ads

i don’t really have anything to say about the bibs but i’ll proudly say their jackets are ugly and generic like most jackets on the market these days every flylow fanboy gonna disagree with me heavy

flylow looks the exact same

If we're talking about bibs here, 0% chance I could fit into the skinny jeans company of skiing, Montec. Flylow's bibs are tits. I finally got a pair this year and totally worth it and kinda baggy too.

I can’t stand Montec and dope snow every kid who “skis” or “snowboards” at my school wears them. It’s just the most unoriginal shit ever.

every all mtn skier out here with the most horrendously hideous fits mfs are in the most skin right outerwear they can find. i stg id watch more pow skiing if people wore tasteful fits.

Armada makes quality shit and is a company deeply rooted in freeskiing. They charge a lot for their 3 layer gortex jacket because it's cream of the crop. They make really sick $200 jackets too. You can't compare them to Montec or Dope. They have proven their worth, durability and loyalty to skiing.

Honestly better than armadas $700 jacket

Virtika might be lame as fuck but at least they support the industry a little (although I have heard they don’t like to pay athletes). Montec and dope are hype boy that goes skiing 5 times a year with a Bluetooth speaker blasting island boys.

How are they ugly? they're just regular looking functional ski jackets. Its gear for being out in shitty weather on the mountain not some fashionable shit you'd wear around town.

My drysuit that I wear kayaking doesn't look like it was inspired by the latest trends in fashion either. keeps me warm though lol

i could buy a life time of track pants and tops at a thrift store for the price of some random skinny bibs

I doubt those skinny jeans are very waterproof or durable. I mean wear whatever you want, style is subjective, but looking down on people for dressing appropriately for the activity they're doing is pretty damn funny to me. See how far those cotton blends in your "stylish" clothing get you when you're up the side of a mountain and the wind is gusting. I've made the mistake of wearing my jibberish canvas coat into some resort accessed slack country and I can tell you it wasn't pleasant. I'd way rather wear the "generic" stuff that actually works than freeze my ass off in the name of FaShIn

They kinda look like if Patagonia was changing styles to comp-jock wear but then lost their Wi-Fi connection and got stuck buffering

He thinks POW skiers dress like 6th graders and wear two skinny of pants. Which I’d agree on. Almost all of them ski super similar which makes it lame as hell to watch. That’s why people continue to watch old pep and pollard stuff, and why it’s so refreshing to see someone like Dylan siggers or Liam Morgan skiing and landing switch and buttering through POW. All tho Dylan’s pants are pretty damn skinny

Flylow bibs are nuts I just got some XXL baker bibs and love them

I see people wearing it. Usually some montec with bent 100s or something. I know they’re not part of the scene but probably want to be.

I look away and continue skiing my line because honestly I don’t care
