so I'm going to Big Sky July 5 with my family and some family friends. we don't have that much planned so... whose been there before? What should we make sure to do in the area? And I already checked, Windells is 12h 10min away and Level 1 is there at the same time, but I doubt we'll be able to do that.

its pretty quite during the summer time :/ I'm not even sure if you are allowed to hike up the mountain.

I thought there was some sort of mountain biking in the area though.

oh.

I would definitely try to hike it if you have a chance though. The worst that would happen is they tell you to leave.

Go visit Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks. Stop in Jackson Hole, about 4 hrs away. Tons of mtn biking, were still skiing, hiking.

The tram will take you to the top, then you hike up Cody peak and shred on. No inboubds riding tho. Not tjat there is any snow left, corbetts, Cody and some north facing aspects aside.

oh you mean like this?........ so hiking around there or what?

The jump is a strip club in Gateway, ask if Diesel is working.

Summer's in big sky are super chill. There's free live music in the meadow every Thursday night so check that out. Definitely check out Yellowstone. Go fly fishing, wading on the Gallatin or take a float trip on the Madison. There's DH mountain biking at the resort, not sure of the hours/schedule of when their open though. You can take a tram ride to the peak, great views from up there. They have a few zip lines too if that interests you, shocka brah. Grizzly outfitters rents bikes, get one and cruise up buck ridge. There's a super mellow hike to oussel falls which is cool. Or hike storm castle, more intense, but a good hike, you'll drive passed it on your way to BS from Boze. Eat some elk and bison. There's a lot to do there, have fun.

If you have a full suspension bike, shred Big Sky. Went there last summer and it was bomb. Real nice trails up there. Some are kinda gnar, would not recommend a hardtail.

Go to Montana for vacation to drive to Windells with your family....Just go to the Beartooths if you realy want to ski.

Go to the Buffalo Jump.

Hahahaa not quite

Although the real buffalo jump state park is kinda cool. Just a big ridge that you can hike around in but there are 1000's of better places to hike.

If you are gonna be in Bozo at all hit Main Street for music on main on thursday nights. Grab a beer and some dank pulled pork nachos from Rocking R Bar. Head up Hyalite Canyon and hike to some waterfalls or all the way to the lake if you are in for a good day hike. Definitely do a white water trip if you can, there are a ton of guide outfits on the Gallatin in Big Sky. Fly fishing is all time out there if you are in to that.

Whitefish has some good summer stuff to do up on the mountain but I'm not sure how far Wf is from Big Sky.

like a 8 hour drive. Big sky and bozo have plenty of tourist activities for out of staters. no worries

Is it really that far? I can make it to Western Washington in 9 hours but that's because it's just I-90 the whole way. For some reason I thought Whitefish was only like 3-4 hours from Bozeman.

google maps is saying 5.5 hours. So I guess I exaggerated a bit. But yea, its not exactly a short drive.
