Paging [tag=158507]@safarisam[/tag] ??

Bro I don’t even fly fish but I still know Montana is a great spot for it- lotta spots in the area for you to fish at, just make sure you don’t get caught lackin without a license or fishin on someones land.

in terms of skiing… durrrr.

Bridger bowl 30 minutes away, Big Sky is 60ish- both are super rad resorts for different reasons. Aside from that there’s pretty much all the touring/backcountry access you could want right nearby.

The school itself is aight, I love my classes and the campus is nice to hangout at (2 bitchin microbreweries right across the street too). If you’re an architect, an engineer or an environmental science major you’ll be really coolin cause the school pours a ton of resources into those programs specifically.

hope this helps a bit, it’s a lot of fun out here- would recommend.

WE HAVE WORLD CLASS FISHING. dude I have fished so much in all the surrounding rivers and streams it’s insane. I literally like fishing enough it’s loud and proud on my truck. It’s Goulding be hard to find some good buddies to go rip some lips with here— we’re called Trout U for a reason.

This an annoying question but what kind of GPA did you have when you applied

It’s no problem- I graduated high school with about a 3.2 GPA. Luckily since MSU will accept anyone who can spell their name right I got in no problem and was able to yoink a bit of financial aid.

Seriously shoot me a PM. I did undergrad and grad at MSU and have now fished for 4 years straight w/ no breaks. The Gallatin is close, Madison, Yellowstone. The Ruby is a haul but the best fucking fishing if my life.

nursing program at msu? love everything about bozeman and the resorts around it. i’ve heard they have a good nursing program but any firsthand perspectives?

Floating the Madison is like one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. I didn’t fish just slugged beers and layed in my boat. But obviously most of who you see out there is drift boats and guides. There’s a couple mountains out there as well to ski at apparently ?

MSU is sick. I didn't go but I have a couple of friends that go there that absolutely love it. Every time I go to Bozeman I have a fucking blast and it makes me want to move out there tbh.

Hot girls, lots of skier homies, pretty good food, close skiing, no rules (it's fucking Montana).

The only bad things I have heard are housing is getting super expensive and that there's no night skiing.

And like someone above said their STEM programs have a ton of resources.

Lol yeah one day I was like how cool would it be to move out there from Seattle you could probably get a sick house and land for super cheap… NOT!

recently toured msu as it was one of my top choices, they told me you have to have ONE of these, a 2.5 gpa unweighted, 1150 on sat, top half of your graduating class or something else. Basically super easy to get into. Also if you want a big school with theb typical college life i def didn't get the vibe from this place., Def seems like a smaller school vibe and a tight knit community as ther campus wasnt packed at all on the days I went. However, if thats your vibe then its such a sick place just wasnt what i really wanted. engineering program seemed to be super sick tho so its a good academic school fs, few of the top 10 kids in my class are considering it as their primary option for reference. lmk if you have any questions regrading the touting process or application

Every year when seniors in high school start looking into college this thread gets made.

MSU is a good school with awesome outdoor recreation opportunities.

It's very easy to let skiing take priority over school and I know a bunch of people who dropped out when they realize they were there more to ski than to go to school.

Bozeman is a cool town, pretty expensive with an insanely competitive rental/housing market.

I've been living here since 2015 and I'm glad that I've had the privilege to do so after college but I'm pretty burnt out on Bozeman personally.

I’ve heard Iowa is way better… I’ve been to Montana, it sucks. Way too cold. [tag=158507]@safarisam[/tag]

Newest Bozeman resident... chasing even newer versions away.
