tons of parties, but for the most part they are like 5-1 dude to chick ratio. There ARE chicks here idk why people say that there arent.

As for skiing. Bridger bowl is the smaller local area. Most of the locals swear by it but a lot of the gnarliest, best terrain is on the ridge, so you need a beacon and knowledge to ride it.

Big sky and moonlight are farther away, but I personally think the better option. The terrain isnt as technical, but they have some good open steeps and what not. Moonlight has easy access to the chutes.

As far as park, neither resort is near to level of any summit resorts, or someplace like park city. Bridger has basically no park. Big sky has a pipe and usually 2 or 3 somewhat big jumps (i think they were like 55 feet last year? mebbe a little smaller.) moonlight lacks in the jumps, but always has sick rails and jibs set up.

as for the film program, no clue on that.

theres mountain biking, climbing, hiking, etc. basically if your the outdoorsy type your set.

haha what do you mean by cool to do? its not like a big city (im from chicago) but its a sick town

well like..its montana hah

how are the parties, the night life?

im pretty outdoorsy and like all the stuff, but i would think that after a while that could get kind of boring and then there would be absolutely nothing else to do hah.

pm Skipig25, he's a maine kid who goes to MSU, he'll fill you in on everything you need to know

idk. i mean, i havent been bored out of my mind, but i definitely feel like theres less to do than at home.

yea definitely, and being from california there is so much stuff to do, so i would think if i moved to montana i would hate it. but who knows.

yea, you probally would. besides you shouldnt pick a college on how the "nightlife" is. besides house parties, theres nothing to do at night, AND californians dont get along too well with montanans. its cause they come here, buy all of your land, turn it into private land so we cant get to the spanish peaks and other places NATIVE montanans grew up with. They also rape our property values and treat the NATIVE montanans like dick. so dont come to montana, fuck stain

I visited there in june. I thought I was going to love it but I was unimpressed compared to Utah. It's beautiful and great but I'm from NY and I'm not use to looking out and seeing huge mountains in the distance then when you get to them they seem smaller than you expected for some reason. I was somewhat depressed there and Syracuse has one of the highest suicide rates in the country. Has something to do with the lack of sunshine.

The actual campus is great. Everyone is really friendly and it looks new, for the most part. I was unimpressed by the dorms but then again, they're just dorms. The town isn't too big and it seems very chill. There's 12,000 students and that was another reason why I wasn't too thrilled.

mt sucks id much rather go to school in cali so every morning i can wake up and smell the fresh mornin smog

well put. thats why the fucking median home price is around 350,000 and the median income is 40,000. the people buying the houses are from out of state coming in with their parents money buying up everything. its bull shit.

I GOT IN!!! woohoo...took about a week for them to reply after doing their early thing...my friend goes there and says theyve got some good bud :)

Yeah yeah yeah knocking Californians in Montana... fucking original.

To the kid from California, don't let what they say deter you. Some montanans have an attitude about us coming in but whatever. Give respect to get respect.

Either of you guys PM me if you want my opinions on Montana. By "you guys" I don't mean the ones being aggro on Californians, I mean prospective students. I go to UM not MSU but I can still help out.

montanans have an issue when people come from other states and then proceed to infiltrate the government to pass their Californian agenda off on others. the head of the gallatin nation forest from cali is a perfect example, closing trails, closing shooting areas, more regulations, destroying the way of life of many people that have lived here for generations.

I heard they put in a chair that reaches near the top of the ridge now. But you still need parter/shovel/beaon

THERE ARE GIRLS IN MONTANA!!

although, this one left :(

My brother goes there. But he has been hanging out with a rambunctious crowd. Lucas worries me sometimes.

hahaha i said there were girls, it just seems like when you go to parties, they vanish, and suddenly its like 5-1.

and yes there is a lift now. but you still need a beacon and whatnot. plus im not sure if the lift ever got finished

Don't come here for the partying, come for the low key atmosphere, sick skiing, and other stuff outdoors. I have heard that the film program is decent. dowalibeast is in the film program here, you could pm him with questions i'm sure. It's a fun place, I like it here.

the film program is pretty legit here. i have 3 friends in it. you gotta bust ass and set yourself apart from others to go anywhere with it, but that's how film is everywhere. plus you cant beat the locations you can shoot films in here!

oh, yeah, sorry. the first part was a response to you.

the girls part was a response to the thread starter. But I do agree, parties are definitely not balanced.

i understand why montanans hate californians, alot of us are little stuck up bitches.

i hope i dont fit into that category hah.

but im definitely looking at it for its education, but you have to have good parties and nightlife, it cant be ALL education.
