Mont Ste-Marie ORAGE Big Air -- Mar. 9

For those of you in Ontario and Quebec, there will be an Orage Big Air at Mont Ste-Marie Saturday, March 9. Lots of product and cash prizes. Registration is 9-12, comp starting around 1. E-mail me if you would like more info: bigmike@engsoc.org.

 
It's going to be held in the 'Kami' Park. When you're looking up at the mountain from the lodge, it's the trail to the right. Here's a picture of the jump right now (we'll likely be adding another small jump for some of the younger kids...).

ah... why does it have to be the same weekend as the Grail? I'd love to go but I'm down at Mount Snow. Where's your brother going? I heard he's going to the Grail - is he still doing that or is he going to the Orage comp'?

Dave is going out west for filming, so unfortunately he's missing both events. I agree that it sucks that they're both the same weekend... I really think we need more weekends in the winter to fit all these events in!

Also, if the picture doesn't come up (above), it's probably because my school server is down -- it's a little bit fickle...

 
What happened to Edelweisse holding it? And I was at MSM this weekend and the jump sucks ass man, you come into it way to steep so your going like 50 km/h.

 
what jump are you talking about the big air jump for the orage comp from like a month ago? no way could you come into that with too much speed... you had to tuck to get any speed.....

and yeah. i thought edleweiss was holding it... oh well.. if they arent then i cant make it. i cant take a train to mt st anne can i?

I can assure you guys that the jump will NOT suck ass. It will be prep'd the morning of March 9th, and the landing will be made soft. The guy who built it (Marc, the terrain park designer) has lots of experience with building these sorts of competition-calibre jumps.

Here's another picture of the inrun, so you can be the judge. (And there will likely be added another smaller jump adjacent for people looking for smaller air...)
