My dad really wants to start monoskiing but i cant talk him out of it and need reasons besides its gay to convince to stick with normal skiing.
 
maybe just to try out but they have no range of movement and why would you want to stand with your kness squished together all day when you could be comfartable on a pair of skis
 
i want to try it, but i dont think you can rent them. can you? w/e, if your pops is still skiing, let HIM try something new, then you try it and see who can do it or not.
 
I wouldn't ever switch to monoskiing. I'd just get one to mess around on those really shitty days.

What can you say? Speed record (like ~25seconds) down Glacier Rondi in Chamonix. I believe there's a short section from the exit couloir in the end of the clip.

It maybe doesn't look pretty but think about speed and efficiency (on the righ person's feet).

If I had limitless ski days I'd go out on a mono once in a while just for the hell of it.

 
Seriously, did your dad try and stop you from getting those newfangled twin tips?

Monoskis are the shit. Period. Try one and see how much skill it takes. I've seen McConkey do a backflip on one, but seriously, someone needs to make a twin tip one and start shredding it NS style.
 
EDIT: the said Rondi section is around 3.15~3.20 on the video above. After that it gets even steeper and gnarlier...I believe some of the clips are from the dreaded north face of the Aguille du Midi!
