Mono Skier-X

Considering these dudes have been through some shit we can't even comprehend, and then not giving up and being in the X-games as our lame asses watch from home............amazing.

Vibes for a quick recovery - this guy is hard as fuck.

I think it's cool that these guys are still ripping but the way they showed it on tv made the whole thing look like a joke.

The course was obviously not made for sit skier and it didnt even look fun at all for them, I mean most of the riders couldnt even ride out of the secodn obstacle.

Yeah those guys are nuts. I just watched the finals and hitting the huge booter at the bottom sitting down on one ski would be sooooo nuts. Props to those guys.

I respect them and all, but there's no way "mono skier"X should be on rather than the slope finals.

And ESPN doesn't even know what monoskiing really is

This is monoskiing:

yeah, it is really inspiring to see them out there, but i do agree the course is not so great for them. they would have to pole so hard to get through that canyon thing cuz it was so flat. I like marc andre slaying pow better though haha.

and why would that guy have 2 park skis? it makes no sense. First, think of how much longer it takes to get from edge to edge? second, more surface area would make them slower, and finally, one of them actually came off in the run, which should not happen with a sit ski. If i were in these events, id use a race ski, or if i were worried about stability, something fatter with a good turn radius, maybe even get it custom made

I have one leg and also ski but still i respect these guys so much. One thigh they should put Outrigger Ski-X in the X Games

so much respect and i was very pissed to have to read people hate and make fun of these guys during the live ns chat that was going on.

yea that was pretty terrible, i was surprised at how badly people responded to it. Though it might just be some of those wonderful 12 year old ns'ers trying to look cool on the internet

(i know at one point you accused me of hating in it, but i think there must have been some sort of misunderstanding because i did nothing of the sort, i was trying to get other people to shut up and stop the useless hate on something they couldn't do if they tried)

its all good man it was just sad to see hate during something as awesome as that. most these guys lived on the snow before they got injured and now they are given the chance again its an awesome thing.

Mad props to all the sit skiers out there. Shit's tough.

Almost all athletes that compete in sitskis at that level have custom made sitskis which cost upwards of $50K. The design of the sitski is made specifically to work with the disability of the athlete. This usually depends on how much upper body strength they have and where the break point is, which determines how much mobility and control they have. So for some sit skiers, it doesn't make sense to use a mono sit ski instead of a bi ski where they can have more stability and control. Yes the ski should be able to to release from the rest of the sit ski, the rest of the sit ski is equivalent to a ski boot for your butt.

i have so much respect for these guys they kil it in sit skis remeber that guy lsat year who hit that huge ass jump and stomped it? was so sick bigger than half the kids on this site would hit
