Monitor Help

Okay here's the deal, currently just rocking my iMac as my workstation. For next semester in my apartment I sadly cant have a tv in my room at school. So I was thinking of grabbing a second monitor that could double as a second monitor to my iMac for when I'm editing my sick bangers, but could also double as a monitor when I'm killing noobs on PS4, clearly I care more about the color aspect, of it and what not, but i honestly have no clue what I'm looking for at this point. Anyone that can point me in the direction of a monitor that can be connected to my iMac as a second display but can also do the job as a screen for PS4 would be a god. Not looking to go over $750ish give or take and not picky on size.

Thanks!

There are some killer gaming monitors 1080p that have amazing color for around $150. I have dual monitors on my custom built pc and they are from asus and are 23.6 inches. There were $150 each id say and they work great. Idk how a mac connects to them but id imagine there is a hdmi to thundbolt converter

This should direct you in the right direction.

Why would he need a 144hz monitor? A ps4 outputs 60hz and I doubt he will be editing footage and exporting it in 120 fps.

Your doubt is kinda wrong, currently working with a A7Sii, have messed around with 120, also I mess around with the Red at school whenever I get my hands on it.
