Monarch Mountain?

Long story short, I have three free passes to monarch, and some people I know have the same and invited me to ride out with them next week to make use of these tickets. About myself, grown up here in Upper Michigan, biggest vertical I've skied is the 900' of Mount Bohemia. I'm a pretty decent skier, love pow, cliffs and trees but don't get much of that around here. I'm taking my Bacons on this trip. Basically, I want to know what to expect there, I've read its not the greatest mountain but it'll blow MI out of the water I'm sure. Also if any locals would be down to show us around that would be sweet!
 
ive been to monarch on pow days and it is one of the most underarted mountains. stayed for 4 days there and i had such a blast some tips that i can remember

1.) i remember there being a really sick run under a chairlift, the slope was weird but it had some nice cliffs to show off

2.) when u get off the chairlift there is usually hiking to the right, DO IT, you can ski some really nice fresh pow runs and its a easy 20 minute hike no problem'

3.) when u get off the chairlift and go to the left and go down a little there is a gate to the far right, u can go through it and traverse more to the right and there is some sick ass lines, sorry i dont' remember where it exactly is
 
Usually good. Monarch gets more snow than most other areas in colorado. Also they just had a 60" storm a couple of weeks ago so Monarch and Wolf Creek are both skiing good now with pretty good bases.
 
Monarch would be shredded to shit if it was easier to get to from the big cities. Really underrated and luckily not as accessible as Summit County. Enjoy man!
 
If you like trees and pow you will love Monarch! Even though it is smaller it is one of my favorite places to ski in CO. The place has such a cool vibe to it, and there are almost no lift lines, ever... you will love it
 
this is the first year i didn't get a pass, and i just found out about the monarch mountain deal! have fun it sounds sick!
 
not op...But I did get the Bohemia pass, and was pondering using the free tix to monrach, or pay and go ski wolf creek.
