I understand this is about the 1 billionth thread created on this topic. I search barred and googled, looked at 10+ threads but I still have yet to find which is best. There have been so many different answers. I just got into park (I can only 3 and 5) and I want a camp where I can progress a lot and also have lots of fun. Thank you +k for answers

ur stupid as fuck there is a search bar for a reason u fucking idiot. I hope ur parents don't let u go now u sad sack of shit. /thread

OH YEAH?

WELL FOR MY BIRTHDAY MY PARENTS BOUGHT ME A BRAND NEW CHEVY TAHOE WITH A SKI RACK AND LET ME BUY LIKE 5 NEW SKIS.

I ALSO GET TO GO WINDELLS FOR THE WHOLE ENTIRE SUMMER BECAUSE IM JUST THAT FUCKING RICH. I ALSO GOT TO BUY WHATEVER SAGA JACKET I WANTED AND A FD JACKET SO I COULD BITCH ON NS ABOUT IT BEING SHITTY SO I SEEM COOL.

YEAH. WHAT.

not just an orange name. saga has 20+ combined years working with windells. theyve always been good to us and we love working with them. we have more than enough fun every summer in welches/mt hood. we couldnt think of a better way to spend our summers than at windells.

then again it is just an opinion.

Honestly man, ive been to summer ski camp before, and really no matter which one you chose, youll have the time of your life. This is just my 2 cents on what ive experienced and heard.

Momentum-

Biggest thing momentum has going for them is their private T-bar, this allows you to lap quickly, and ski til youre dead, only downside is that the lane is so steep, so you only get a couple hits in. Other than that diggers work unbelievably hard setting features, and changing things best for campers.

Skiing 7/10

accommodation 10/10 but its in a hotel, so you cant get to rowdy

Windells

Windells park always looks unreal, big jumps, fun rail options, only thing is, you need to ride the rope tow, which in my personal experience is slow and all around not a fun time. Also windells usually packed with pros, which means more pro hoeing, but a busier park, so the choice is yours

Skiing 8.5/10

accommodation 7.5/10

Apparently after skiiing at windells is boring as shit, and if you dont skate, there not much to do except jack off.

Camp of champions

COC's park is BY FAR the best summer park in the world, Their XL jump line is always mint, they have tons of rail options and its groomed every night unlike windells, and Momentum. Only shitty thing is COC shares a T-bar with the public lane, and the race camp, which means 10-15 minute lift lines.

skiing 10/10

accomodation 7/10 (at coc you stay in the staff housing which youre basically allowed to trash, skate in the hallways, put holes in the walls, its cool)

Hope this helped, have fun at summer camp!

biased* and yes we may be but the numerous members of our team that return to windells, and not one of the other camps, year after year to ski and work aewnt. also theres a reason everyone trues to poach windells in the summer. they have the best, most easily accesible and fastest lapped park in the northern hemisphere in the summer.

p.s. still just an opinion, not facts

Yeah, "best" is an opinion by definition. I think MHSSC is the illest, but then again I work there. Rep yo Hood!

you'll have fun anywhere, i mean ski camp during the summer sounds sick.but COC has a really nice campus and campers get to stay in the holiday inn at the center of the village this year which is a plus!

Mt hood summer ski camps is the way to go. I have spent three summers there its the tits

1. the chillest coaches out (nolan, maks, and shea flynn)

2. uh ski racers have the nicest asses so spending time at camps tight.

3. Typically are biggest jump is 70+ feet and the tiniest one like 8

4. The cost of 2 sessions at mhssc cost about the same as one session at another camp because there always free drinks and food at mhssc. I say this because ive heard windells charges kids to get drinks and snacks. (no evidence from me though)

5. The two illest down rails on hood for proof just watch some of "Mcslay"s videos

6. the camp kinda lets you do whatever you want

7. real coaching instead of you just riding behind a pro and when you ask them for help they just tell you to pop more

8. Tramp sessions after skiing are sick typically crew of twenty kids snaking the fuck out of eachother for the tramp

9. you get to govy which means you can get the mary J

10. The ski racers asses.

Never seen 20+ years post before....

Saga can we get some of your athletes to make a video about how much they LOVE Windell's. Maybe ask Steve or Collin to make a short 30 second video about why they think Windells is better then any other camp? I mean they would all have NO problems considering,

" theyve always been good to us and we love working with them. we have more than enough fun every summer in welches/mt hood. we couldnt think of a better way to spend our summers than at windells. "

And it sounds like you speech for all the Saga riders so lets see it!!!!!

Definitely go to windells. I've been to both windells and COC. COC is cool, but the windells is a much funner place if you're under 21, seeing as that there is nowhere to go, as COC has whistler village. The coaches at windells also seem way more stoked on teaching and a actually around off the hill to hang out n shit. Windells also has a dope as indoor and outdoor skate park and tramps and a foam pit.

Go to windells. It's also cheaper I think.

What if you are over 21? I just want a camp this summer where my coach will only care about helping me progress. Sure I want to have fun, but I don't want it to be too laid back like "you tried your best that's all we can ask for." Fuck that -- I want a coach that will be like "hike back up that fucking hill and hit it again, only this time do X, Y, Z different and you'll stomp it,"

dont be a fool, momentum is always cool. its the shit; awesome coaches, dedicated diggers, fast laps for days, and alot of babes on vacation to be seen in the village!

Thanks everyone for replying. It seems like I'll have a blast at any camp. Right now I'm leaning towards windells and momentum.

loved momentum, really good vibes and everything was beyond expectations. also, you get to roam around the village which is fun

Take a look at COC and check the park. 3 times bigger than any other

park. More space means more features. we had over 80 hits, lines, jumps,

rails, jibs last year. Our park has a huge hike a rail area we call

"Quebec" that is stuffed with rails that you don't need to lap on a

lift. Yeah, the lift lines get a little long when Momentum takes an hour

out of your day to go eat lunch in the lodge before knocking off for

the day a half hour earlier than COC. We ride 1.5 hours a day in a 3 times larger park with no space taken up with Moguls or Halfpipe.

At COC you don't have to

do side slip laps at the start of the day and end of the day to "groom"

the park that merely smooths out the braking bumps that are in the

landing of every feature due to the steepness of the park and the lack of nightly grooming. You don't

read about that on their website. (Also it's more learning time taken out of your day) At COC we have our entire park groomed

by snowcat every single night so that when you roll up with your coach first thing in the morning, you can hit it a perfectly groomed park right off the bat.During the day our professional dig crew

makes sure the park stays perfect. Momentum sideslips morning and night,

and grooms every third day. Not what we'd call a grooming program. All the camps are expensive so you might as

well get as much as possible for the money you've spent. The quality of our park is

why the coaches getting paid by other camps come to ride with us every chance they get.

The US Slopestyle Freeskiing Team, The NZ Team and other teams

chose COC as their summer training partner. The AFP World Tour has selected

COC as their Official Summer Camp. They know they won't find a better

summer experience or park anywhere.

We're now staying at the Holiday Inn right in town so the whole town is on your doorstep.

Camp is insane if you are under 21 or over 21. Whistler is the most fun town in the universe.

I really liked windells solely on the fact of T-Lines public park. I'm not sure that's what they were going for but I had more fun lapping that than the windells lane.

Go to MHSSC. It is half the cost of the other camps which means you could probably convince your parents to send you for double the time. Double the time at camp means more time on snow with constructive coaching. Double the time on snow with constructive coaches means more progression for you. Plus MHSSC is just as much fun as the others even though it is really janky. So if you want to have a blast and make some solid progression go to MHSSC.

the only thing im worried about because i was planning to go to COC is the lift lines, how long do you have to wait typically

In the morning till about noon the line is less than a minute or two. The lift line starts to clog up at about noon when the public start to arrive on the glacier and all the Momentum campers get in line to go for lunch hour in the lodge. According to Whistler Blackcomb, who times the lift lines, from Noon to 2 it's about 5-8 minutes. From 2 - 3 it's about 10 minutes.

The park at COC is the reason the US, Norway, Canada, Russia, Belarus, Holland, and NZ national teams train at COC and others including Momentum's coaches come over to ski when they want to work on their skills. The lift line might be a little longer but our park is twice as long and three times the size has three times the hits and greater variety of lines and hits than Momentum because we don't have part of our area set aside for moguls and pipe, so you get more than 2 hits a run. Also with the COC park being flatter and more park friendly, our features are more like what you will find when you get home, and there isn't the whole braking bumps problem from the lack of nightly grooming. We are the only camp that grooms their park with snowcats every night, which makes a huge difference to how much quality skiing you get. Momentum grooms once a week and has campers sideslip twice daily. At COC you don't have to do a few runs at the start and end of each day sideslipping the park. Our park is ready to rock first thing in the morning. We also have designed an area we call "Quebec" that is loaded with rails that are all set up so you can pick a rail to session and hike it without even having to use the lift. Take away the time other camps spend sideslipping, eating in the lodge and all of a sudden a few minutes a run in the lift line for a three times bigger park isn't as bad as it sounds. It all translates to more time skiing with your coach working on your skills. Camp at COC does cost a little more than other camps but when you see the care and attention we put into our park and the hands on one on one coaching, you'll realize how worth it coming to COC is.

Ken

Ken, I hate to do this, but when you start hyping yourself with questionable statements, I gotta call you out.

First of all, you're making this big deal about your park. I hope you realize that no one on Hood has to sideslip either, and that both MHSSC and Windell's get groomed every night just like you guys. Yours is the biggest, maybe, but it can't fit Momentum, MHSSC, and Windell's inside of it, like you say in this thread: https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/738830/. In fact, you're ahead of Windell's by only about ten features (80 to 73), at least according to numbers on the official websites and what you posted in that thread.

In that same thread, you also claim that "Campers are also on snow getting coached longer than any other camp." That's quite the claim considering you're on snow for the same number of days as Windell's, and for the same number of hours. And no one on Hood goes into the lodge for lunch either (unless it's raining). And that doesn't even go into what you pay for those hours, a breakdown in which you finish behind every other camp, and MHSSC wins by a lot.

You also make some of the same claims in this thread here:

https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/727050/. 3x the size of Windell's huh? Just keeps getting bigger!

I'm sure your park and coaches are awesome, and your campers have a blast just like everywhere else, but please don't make claims that grossly exaggerate the differences in experience and the value. It reflects badly on you as the "Founder/Owner/Director".

MHSSC...OUT.

If this is paramount to you then I suggest you give us a look. We may not be on snow, but we offer a great camper to coach ratio with staff who's number one focus is on helping you to progress and have fun. And we do it for half the cost of many of the other camps.

COC has the biggest summer park at whistler for sure and i think it does have more features than windell's but honestly there is no way the entire windell's lane top to bottom (before it melts out a ton) is smaller than the COC lane, the windell's lane has got to be over a mile long in the earlier sessions; though its the features not the sheer size. but even then honestly having the most features isnt necessarily directly proportional to how much you learn. Windell's has as many hits as it does and that number is more than enough to keep everyone happy for a long time. all you need for kids of all abilities to be able to learn is a wide variety of handrails for all levels that are setup well and well built jumps from very small to very large. windells has all of that so it really shouldnt matter the exact number of features, the park will keep you very busy. and the kid that made the long write up on all of the camps, you rated all those camps but have you been to every single one of them? i guess i'd hope so if you rated each but it doesn't seem like you have if you said there is nothing to do at windells after skiing haha. it has the most fun activities. paintball, white water rafting trampolines, I'm not list all of em go to the website but windells certainly has as many after skiing options as any other camp if thats gunna be the deciding factor. they are all sick camps as I have been a camper at momentum COC and windells. COC is definitely really sick but seems like windells is getting heat and I find windells to be the most fun and progressing. I feel like choosing a camp, the bigger decision is hood vs whistler than any individual camp. I prefer to have all sunny days at hood rather than go to all this decision making trouble then have it rain snow or be crazy cloudy more than half the time i'm there. you'll have fun regardless of where you go
