Moment Skis.

I was thinking about getting a pair of Moment skis as my backcountry jib pair in my quest to complete my quiver.. (which will most likely never happen)

Why or why not?

Great skis. Go for it dude. Handmade up in Reno, I say yes get them. Or check Line. Good backcountry jib skis too.

the bibby pros have gotten alot of hype. they are a soft rockered ski, sick for de backcounrty jibbin and jump and drinkin pilsner

Yeah they look awesome! I might just have to snag me a pair of those.

I have a question though.. As much steez as the flat tip has.. has anyone ever heard of it getting caught on trees and other objects under the snow? I feel like with a 143 tip the Bibby Pro will rise over most obstructions.. and if it does catch something you are in trouble anyways..

Talked to one of the Moment reps at a movie premiere in Lake Tahoe last night, and I asked him about the square tips and tails. According to him, it makes absolutely no difference in the skis' performance. The only reason the skis have the squared tips is so they are easily recognizable. It's purely cosmetic.

That said, I'm not so sure about the durability of Moments. A coworker of mine did a lot of work and binding mounting for their team riders the last two years, and he said virtually every pair of skis he worked on either snapped or had the bindings pull out of the core. Dunno if this is still an issue, because there were still a lot of prototype skis being tested the past two years, but I'd still be cautious.

Moment makes some sick product. Plus Casey and the boys are awesome dudes and really love skiing. Utmost respect to Moment skis for sure. I ride Boones, but I definitely want to try a pair or two.

i know they used to have a lot of problems but they fixed them and now they are the sickest skis ever, and they look super sick

also everyone from moment is super chill and will help you out with problems

all those issues have been worked out, we were having a few problems but our new cores are super strong against pull outs and snapping, while still keeping the skis super light, last year we had a problem with our fiberglass order but we have addressed this issue and from the tests on our new prototypes, the skis are the best we've ever made

I wonder if the Bibby's would be comprable to the JJ's? I was looking at the Bibbys in the shop this weekend and they look pretty nice...just wondering how soft/stiff they are.

Moment Skis Rule!!!!! seriously, sick graphics, awesome handmade quality, and you are supporting a small business. You can't beat these skis guys.
