I was looking at the SIA and the 09 moment skis look prettty dope. Im thinking of gettting a pair for next year. but how do they hold up? i ski all park and once in a while glades
 
Ahh. I love my Moments. So poppy, light, moderately stiff, and just all-round perfection.

Next year's Reno will have more dampening underfoot, more titanal underfoot, and apparently more things which have no noticable effect on the weight. get an invite to the moment cult. i would hook you up with one but i'm no longer able to

I really like my M1's, but they're deff. not a park ski. But they are damned versatile. I really like the 08 designs too.

message garrett. about moment skis, every pair he has had have delamenated even his 08 renos.

i wouldnt buy them. hes had 6 pairs.

the 08 09s with the tape cassets and i know who skijrf is, hes in the ak riders cult along with garrett. and myself. maybe as moment matures and grows. they will get better. but now i would never buy a pair.
 
wasn't cedric (quebecfreestyler) just signed to their team? i bet if you pm'd him he could give you some info on the skis.
 
hmm never heard of them delaminating, but i have seen them break.
all skis break though. From my understanding they are pretty sweet and reliable skis.
 
^ I have heard of problems... eh. Jibs did have problems with snappng.. not sure about delamming though. Delamming used to happen (this was wayyy before production year) with the 360 degree edges but moment were quick to fix it with a 3/4 wrap instead.

i guess your looking at the reno's. the rest of the skis (my rubys, for instance) are solid. bases are nearly intact, stil
 
I have 08 reno jjbs... I have about 40 days on them and I still cant find a single thing to complain about... they are the lightest... poppiest, most solid ski I have ever ridden. I have no delam problems. Just a great all around ski.

Let me know if you have any more specific questions.
 
all skis break. moments had mad troubles last year and the year before with edges and bindings ripping out, but i never heard of too many delam issues. top sheets issues maybe, but no delam
 
I wouldn't say the M1 is that versatile since they don't like tight spots and don't come alive until you hit 40 mph. For better versatility, I suggest next year's Ruby which has the stiffness between the Tahoe and the M1. Still available in 180 and 188 with a flatter tail in the 190.

i rode 3 pairs of moments this year

2 jibs

1 reno rocker

the rocker delamed after 3 weeks

the reno jib is incredibly stiff prly worse than the msp

they held up well but moments edges DO NOT LAST at all

i went 2 pairs on a little over 2 1/2 months
 
You must ski way harder then I do and be like 30 ppounds lighter cause all the jibs I rode, demo ones and teh one I got here (wich were supposedly stiffer then the production ones) werent nearly as stiff as the msp.
 
lets tell me something i dont know, im just harshin on garrett...i ski with him all the time. hes not a bitch, so its all good. im done posting in this thread.
 


Those binding and edge problems are pretty much fixed now, not sure about delam issue. Not sure what happened to the ROckers but they had some problems.

I personally don't find the Jibs stiff at all. Definitely stiff enough for everything, but I'd call it a moderate flex. Buttering (for someone light like me) is hard, but posssible.

 
Fact of the matter is park boards break. I've broken almost every park specific ski I've ridden; Dynastar, Rossi, Amada, etc. The problem with breaking on the older models was weaker glass. When they bought all their glass they thought it was 22 gram glass and it was actually 19 gram. Basically the narrower skis have a harder time with the weaker glass but wider skis like the ruby's have no problem because they are so wide and therefore strong. Thru trial and error Moment is goona pull ahead of the ski industry pack because of the love and dedication they put into every pair of boards. Being as they've only been out for two years now, they are KILLIN IT and will continue to do so.
