Moment skis

The pair i saw last year ( early makes or demos ) the edges were mangled underfoot like they were backed by styrofoam. Do your research before you buy they could be good could blow. I cant stand the shape in my own opinion have fun with deflection in avy debris.

Convince you? What do you want to know about them?

Here is a little rundown:

- Symmetrical ski based off of the Reno Jib but its a little bit wider.

- UHMW sidewall for high impact resistance.

- Sintered 4000 Base

- Virgin Steel 2.5 edges Rockwell hardened to 48 for extra life on the rails.

- Super poppy Aspen core. Aspen also means thats its super durable and has a lot of life.

- Triax fiberglass throughout for a strong progressive flex profile.

Graphic sneak peak coming later this week.

ha i guess i just want a good review, i guess im gonna have to wait till people ski them though. i just have no idea what it would be like.

Woooott!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been waiting to see the graphic for ages... I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

Ahahaha.. so stoked.!

go moment..

Ack.

has anyone tried mounting the Jib's behind centre? ahbviously they're designed symetrical, and probably for centre mounted bindings too, but this season i'm supposed to get an all mountain pair of skis, but i'm in love with the Jib's graphic.

the Reno would probably better suit what i'm looking for, but ahhh.... the Jibs... so dope

anyways... can't wait to see the rockers graphic... and see people rockin' on Moments next season!

I haven't tried mounting the Jibs anywhere but center and would suspect that they would turn funny if you tried. I ski my Jibs all over and love them outside of the park, they are very forgiving if you get backseat. Its also nice to have a center mounted ski in tight chutes...

I would suggest getting the Jib and riding it everywhere. You wont have any troubles.

Yeah, thats exxactly wat i was thinking, it might turn funny lol.

i'll take your word on that... get the Jib... i'm used to mounting my bindings an inch bak from centre, (except on my PE's, which are dead centre), just 'cause i gett a bit of tail catch sometimes (especially on bumps), but i'm really wanting the Jibs so i'll do as you say... lol

i'm sure they wont disappoint

yea my buddy has the wrs's and i haven't seen anything lighter. my rubys are almost there. but not. I wanna feel the melees sooo bad. any body got a comparison of ruby to melee weight?

The Melee is lighter. Less wood, less fiberglass....Its also twice as soft as the Ruby....probably more. Reverse camber!

thats crazy. i hadn't felt a ski softer than the ruby. invaders felt like 2x4s compared to em.

ep pro's are softer than the Rubies.

Melees are extremely soft but the flex pattern is different from the ep pros.

nah dude. mine are softer atleast. unless casey hooked me with somethin sick. were they softer before? mine are early. like first pair or somethin he said.

feel the new skis. sooo light. the melee is even lighter than the jib. a pair of melees is probably about the weight of one wrs, I have both.

The Melees are super light and rockered.

Dimensions are 135 - 120 - 135 with boot center 3cm back from center. 2.5 cm of rocker

at tip and tail. They are a soft ski great for powder and jibing

around, and is extremely light. Like all Moment skis, is sandwich construction, as opposed to cap construction (hellbents), making it more durable.

Actually, cap construction is often more durrable against chipping, but it loses its life much faster than a sidewall or sandwich ski.

only more durable in regard to chipping, which doesn't mean shit.

Sidewalls are much better in regard to edge durability. Also much easier to fix once damage has occured.

caps suck. plain and simple

Therefore sidewall skis are more durable. They last longer... like the pop and everything. Plus, chipping is cosmetic. Camber is performance. Also, edges are more durable and easier to fix.

I prefer performance over looks... I dunno about the rest of you.

Is moment going to have any pre season sales coming up? Im debating between this and bluehouse. Maybe both if i can sell my Apaches and my old paintball gear.

the m1 looks really really dope. 195 centermount bc ski. centermount makes the length much less intimidating.

^ I'm getting both, as is benjamin4awhile (i cant spell his username). At Bluehouse's sale price, I can afford to get both the Jibs and a pair of MR's, for $670. That's a deal... some skis are normally $670.

As far as things look right now there are not going to be any advertised online sales like Bluehouse is doing. If you do get some Moments we will hook you up with some softgoods.

We just had some blems for sale at the online store but those went quick.

^haha i didnt expect them like as cheap as bluehouse. But im thinking Renojibs and the MR. Its gonna suck to get bindings for both though.
