I totally agree that people don't wanna buy skis that break. But the fact that Moment gave him new skis shows that they do care about their customers and products. It costs Moment money to replace a pair of skis - and for a company which is just starting out like them, every last cent counts. Any large company would simply say 'fuck off, it's not our problem' in the nicest possible way, which is why with larger companies you often have more luck speaking to a local rep or warrantying through a shop than directly with the company.
From what I've heard, they're reinforcing the Reno Jibs next year with all sorts of new stuff, as well as a new edge manufacturer. I'm not sure what ski your buddy had, but it seems like most of the breakages occurring with were the Reno Jibs/Rockers. Moment's freeride line (if I can throw my opinion in here) is pretty bombproof.
