I'm looking at buying either some moment tahoes or renos. I really like both of them from what ive read but ive never tried them personally. Do any of you have some good suggestions, pros, cons and other advice on these skis. Or have any other suggestions for a good pair of skis?

on these skis.

Reno Jibs - very stiff, poppy, light, look uber sick

Or have any other suggestions for a good pair of skis?

lots, actually

they use too, like all the prototypes, such as the melee and some of the reno rockers.

The tahoes are a great ski. Im getting a pair for tele.

Mistakes can be fixed and improved on. Ignorance cannot. Moment is far from an ignorant company

Wow, very nicely said.

By saying a ski breaks a lot also isnt saying much, I remember when line skis would snap or fall apart the first day kids would ride them. Now look where they are have faith in Moment because in the future they are going to be putting some of the best product on the market.

I wouldn't buy a ski from a company because in the future they may have a good ski, I'd buy it from a company that has a good ski now. you've kind of made it sound like moment is currently like line was when all their skis were breaking, although im pretty sure you didn't mean it that way

*i know next to nothing about the quality of moment skis, if you're buying some new sticks you need to do your own research!

My friend has a pair i think he weighs 130 lbs and he has broken 3 or 4 pairs this winter. They did stand behind them and give him new skis but i wouldidnt invest my money in them yet.

I totally agree that people don't wanna buy skis that break. But the fact that Moment gave him new skis shows that they do care about their customers and products. It costs Moment money to replace a pair of skis - and for a company which is just starting out like them, every last cent counts. Any large company would simply say 'fuck off, it's not our problem' in the nicest possible way, which is why with larger companies you often have more luck speaking to a local rep or warrantying through a shop than directly with the company.

From what I've heard, they're reinforcing the Reno Jibs next year with all sorts of new stuff, as well as a new edge manufacturer. I'm not sure what ski your buddy had, but it seems like most of the breakages occurring with were the Reno Jibs/Rockers. Moment's freeride line (if I can throw my opinion in here) is pretty bombproof.

I will say that love moment skis although i did manage to break a pair or two when the skis were working they were the best flex pop the way they carved it was all sooo nice and by teh sounds of it next years are just getting better and better

ya, i didnt mean it like than.

moments have never broke like lines did and still do.

99% of all the problems have been worked out. and for the 1% thats why they have a great costumer service rep.

So the Moment skis break really easily in the 08 models? because im strongly considering getting the Tahoes but i guess if they come with a full warranty it should be fine. Do any of you guys know how the tahoes handle certain areas of the mountain. I wanna know how they handle Park, Powder, Groomers and Bumps/Crud? Anybody know?

no, the 06's and some of the 07 did they have worked very hard to eliminate all the issues and they pretty much have them built bomb proof now.

Im planning to pick up a pair for next season, ither bibbys or donners, probably donners and im fucking excited for em, just gotta work 2 jobs this summer to afford it but it'll be worth it

It's also worth noting that after a 32 day season the bases still look good amazing. You can see some lines in the wax but no gouges or nicks or anything.

I promised my self I wouldn't buy new skis next year but am already looking at another pair, for me, plus a pair for the woman - both sets with out a doubt will be Moment Skis.

After you ride Moments for awhile it's hard not to sound like a fanboy when talking about these skies. Give them a try, you'll love them.

yep. I have a pair of Rubys and while the top sheets got some nicks, the bases are perfect. And they are the shit

I concur. My Rubys have 20-something days on them, runnning over rocks and trees and the bases are still perfect. like, brand new perfect.

oh well you guys sound like your moments are doing perfectly fine. Maybe I will rethink buying some. But i think im still going to check the waurantee and stuff.

THanks

dude..the warrantee is as good or better than any other company out there...

there would not be a company called Moment if it wasnt.

haha true true and underground companies survive from customer service so i guess you make a good point on that one

seriously-shoot luke an email with some questions about the skis or whatever..i would be suprised if you didnt have an answer within an hour.

Do you guys know a way that i can contact them besides the numbers and emials on the moment website?

C'mon guys, you need to read.

Moment skis were breaking because they company that supplies them with fiberglass game them the wrong stuff. Dave said that this year everything is up and running smoothly and that they have impeccable customer service.
