ESPN "Body Issue" style photoshoot, but with the 20/21 lineup and all the folks from the factory

I.........didn't realize the body issue was full nude. I will deliver what I can.

perhaps... a discount code or two will do instead. 100% off skis and 50% off clothes seems like fair middle ground.

Anything you guys would like to see from the showroom? Won't be quite the same as these kind of photos but also won't be our typical marketing style photos either.

all those commanders please

Just starting producing the parts for the production run of Commanders, should have a photo for you towards the end of August / early September.

I'd really love to see the 193 Chipotle Banana rocker profile as well as hear as much beta about how it compares in feel to a 190 Bibby (best ski ever made, imo). I'm looking for something different than it, but still with a similar feel. I think it might just be the ticket.

[tag=144811]@hot.pocket[/tag] just picked up some chipotle bananas and wanted to know what you would recommend for a 80/20 resort touring pow setup in terms of bindings. Cast or shift? 6 foot 150lbs, thank you and the skis look so sweet in person! Very stoked!

cast requires the 18 toe right? or now 15? your pretty light so imho shifts could be nice as well.

Im getting the new duke pt 16 ( and a 12 for light duty test) the 12 is pretty much shift weight

you're light, can probs get away with the shift. unless you're regularly doing extra big sends

also... touring a fully rockered ski will not work that well

I'm back in the factory on Tuesday, I can snap some rocker pics for you then. Other than that, the Banana is way more of a pure powder ski. It'll be much surfier and easier to pivot in comparison to the Bibby, it'll give you better float in the really deep stuff and is basically a dream in anything over a foot or so. The Bibby outshines it in terms of handling crappier conditions, if the weather said a ton of snow but the reality is manky crap, the Bibby will perform better. If you have other daily drivers and skis that'll handle the 'couple inches to maybe a foot' deep days and want something for the true pow days, the Banana is my go to choice. It'll still blast through afternoon chop and crud, the main selling point of the Bibby over the Banana is simply the overall versatility.

We're built basically the same, 6'2 150lbs and I run the Shift on my Bananas. The binding can be a little finicky while setting up, but once you've worked out the kinks I enjoy the binding. The combo of my weight and my passive skiing style, the Cast system is pretty overkill for me, even with the Pivot 15. If you ski like me (surfy and quick, rarely bigger than 10' drops, enjoy the trees over crazy high speeds), you'll be fine on the Shift. If you ski super aggressively, go with the Cast.

I only tour on fully rockered skis and I have zero complaints. I've run cambered setups for touring before, in my opinion there's not a huge difference in the uphill performance or grip in icy / shitty situations, especially on something like the Meridian with it's very mellow full rocker profile and stout core. Plus, if you're touring on Bananas it better be deep out.

Solid logic. I hope homie gets his bananas and uses em for all the swervy pow!

I love my 'nannas for tight tree runs, and weird techy stuff. & so much float! Also expect chairlift conversations about em, haha

All the 193 Bananas are in wrapping right now, but here's a Wildcat 190 vs Banana 186 comparison. The 186 Banana rocker profile is near identical to the 193, so this should give you a solid idea.

Little preview of the 108 topsheet, pressing the first pairs early next week. Keep in mind that these still have the protective layer on the topsheet (thus the gold "1" on the first photo), so the colors will pop more once we peel that off during our finishing / packaging process.

Our CEO Luke (aka link80) was also on the most recent Blister Gear 30 podcast, he discusses the Commander updates, our new materials, the rest of the lineup and odd things like the Comi and Frankenblade.

More Commander hype. You can see the shape of the Titanal in the tips right now, but it disappears once we pull the protective tape off the topsheet, so it won't be visible in the final product.

oh my god that graphic tickles my love for beautiful savage topsheets. One of these years I'm gonna have to get a pair of moments to satifsy my topsheet G-spot alone.

[tag=144811]@hot.pocket[/tag] Hey Man I'm looking at ordering from the UK, really interested in the Wildcat 101, what size would you suggest for a 168cm tall 154lbs advanced intermediate? I used to ride a lot of park but definitely a more all mountain playful skier now, with occasional charging tendencies

Current quiver is Line Chronic 171 (2014 model, yep they've lasted) & ON3P Jeffrey 116 in 176 length. Wildcats would be to replace the old Chronics. would the 174 measure up closer to 171 in real terms (in Blister style measurements)

Also any idea what the shipping cost to UK might be (ex. import tax, I'll work that out)

Thanks very much!

Not that short, about a couple cm shorter. Mine 182 measure at 180.1

Cheers dude, so I'd expect around 172cm ish?

Now just to work out the delivery costs and tax... damn living in the UK, I got hammered on the ON3Ps (worth it)

Straight tape pull, or the 'real Blister measurement', on the 101 Wildcat 174 will come out to 172 cm +/- a millimeter or two. I'd go with this size if you're confident and like to ski aggressively. If you're skiing a Jeffrey 116 in a 176 you should be able to handle the 174 without issue.

Free worldwide shipping on all ski orders and we list the contents at $150 so you don't get hit as hard with the import taxes.

Yup, free worldwide shipping on all orders over $400, so essentially any order that contains a pair of skis.

We also offer custom skis, free stickers, pro deals, ski financing, and, if you live locally, we will mount, tune, wax and repair any pair of Moment Skis free of charge for the life of the ski.

is this something you claim to do or something that you actually do? I got told the same thing and ordered two pairs shipped to Sweden. When they showed up the customs form was filled in showing the full cost for the two pairs which meant the skis cost a shitload more than I had hoped for. After emailing with Moment asking what was up I first got told that the skis were being listed at $150 and that the added cost probably came from customs having done research on the real value. This turned out to be complete bullshit as the customs form filled in from Moment showed the full amount and nothing close to $150. Emailing again with moment that I was bummed about that I got told off with something like ”yeah, sorry that we’re not helping you screw the swedish customs.

Was I unlucky running in to interns both at customer service and being responsible for shipping my skis and filling out customs forms, color me doubtful.

Sorry for how this situation unfolded, I did some looking into it and apparently Sweden has a tendency to double check the value of items entering the country, something that I was unaware of until now. As far as I know every ski package that gets sent out is labeled as $150, and we've been doing it that way as long as I can remember. I'll bring this up with customer service and our shipping department to avoid a similar situation in the future.

Graphic swaps are the most common, like building a Deathwish with the 2017 PB&J topsheet and the 2013 Bibby base. Other things include building touring versions of existing models (Meridian Tour, PB&J Tour, etc...), making things stiffer / softer (https://blisterreview.com/gear-reviews/moment-extra-crunchy-pbj), fully custom graphics that are designed and produced by the customer, small batch orders for groups that all want matching skis for their hut trips...we can do quite a few things.

If you're ever interested you can reach out to jake@momentskis.com to discuss options. Please keep in mind that there are certain things that we will not build at this time, including completely custom shapes / rocker profiles.

OH snap. A PB&J tour, with a slightly longer effective edge so I can ski one ski size/length shorter than i usually ski inbounds, would be my dream tour ski. One day when I'm a money bags...

Even on the Frankenblades?

Most likely not, one of those exceptions from above. We actually lose money on the blades, and we'd have to charge you an arm and a leg to make a custom blade worth it on our end.

Recent example of a Moment Custom that showed up in the mail yesterday. Grabbed these as a wedding/birthday present:

971669.jpegIt's a current model Deathwish with last year's "Palm tree napalm" Frankenski topsheet, and a '21 Sierra palm tree base. One of the prettiest skis I've ever held, and super straightforward and easy to get built. Highly, highly recommend Moment's customs process.

[tag=144811]@hot.pocket[/tag] 4 working day delivery from the US to the UK, man that is some top quality service, skis just arrived and look amazing, can't wait to ride them.

Got a mounting question if that's cool? These will be my all mountain planks, I like to ski quite playfully but pretty fast most of the time, lots of shifties and jumps, rarely any spins or flips anymore though due to knee issues but still ski switch a bit. Got my Kartel 116s for proper deep powder days mounted at recommended, what would you suggest for the Wildcat 101? One triangle infront of recommended?

For reference I'm 155lbs, 5'6", used to ski a lot of park, and all previous skis have been centre mounted

Thanks very much!

Glad to hear! For mounting I'd go either rec (large triangle, -5) or the triangle closest to the tip of the ski (what I would call our 'athlete' line, -3).

If you want to capture the style of your old park skis in an all mountain platform, go -3. They'll be ever so slightly more maneuverable at this line, will provide quicker / twitchier turn initiation and will 'feel' more like the center mounted park skis you're used to.

If you plan on ditching some of the park influence for better all mountain performance, go -5. They will hold a bit better of an edge at this point, give you a slightly smoother turn initiation and -5 is hardly far back enough to hinder switch performance.

Let me know if that makes sense or if you want any clarification on anything!

Makes total sense, might go for the rec line on them then, park days are behind me and I'd like them to perform in the soft stuff that doesn't need the Kartels.

Thanks for the stellar service man!

The website does not do the Commanders justice, I'm absolutely biased but they are some of the nicest looking skis I've ever had the pleasure of producing.
