Moment Skis Discussion Thread

RIP PB&Jib? Why?

Decided to take the good parts of the PB&Jib and the good parts of the Frankenski and combine them. We're not huge in the park scene, and having 3 different park models was becoming a little much for us, especially when we're having a hard time keeping basically the entire Freestyle lineup in stock.

For clarity, the Frankenski is going from 92 underfoot @ 168 and 178 to 98 underfoot @ 172 and 182. So the style of the Frank with more of the PB&Jib dimensions.

Weight projection for Wildcat 108 from the TGR Moment thread. As someone who's been daily driving full size Bibby's, my knees can't fucking weight to get on a pair of 108's. Late season release?? Pls

Tcurle, give us the skinny on those new commander 118s. How are they compared to the bibby? You on the 188, mounted +2 of rec(-6)?

Hows the 194 going to be??

Also I would be very very pleased with a late season release of the heavy 108

Haha yup that's my mount actually. This ski will be replacing the Governor, and it's a better version of the Governor. The dimensions and rocker profile are a bit updated with an addition of two sheets of titanal. Comparing the two is still the same as the Wildcat vs. Governor debate. Wildcat for an all mountain ski that loves pow. Commander for a very directional person hitting a few more airs and needs a bit more camber in the tail.

Haven't pressed the 194 but hopefully I'll post a video on them doing something cool!

Is the 118 like a true big brother of the C108, or is it more Governer DNA? Just curious, I really like the souds of the 108, but not sure on the Governer.

Based off Commander

How soft are the new Frankenski?

Also will the chipotle blade be making another appearance?

Fairly soft, full bamboo core and the triple camber adds edge hold and keeps you on your feet if you land backseat. Definitely not hard to butter at all.

Chipotle Blades are out of stock for the foreseeable future. Not sure when we will be reproducing those.

You should make blades with different graphics each year. Ghost Chant Blades, Comi Blades, etc.. Y'all have had so many classic graphics over the years that it'd be cool to see the blades become a greatest hits band.

Also, update on a potential limited Wildcat 108 run this year? I just filed my taxes and I'd hate to put it saving or become "financially stable" or something lame like that.

It's coming in summer from what I've heard

Got invited by hot.pocket to come visit the shop. Went over today and it was honestly one of the best shop experiences I have ever had. These guys and gals truly care. Demoing some ski's to buy, super excited.

Currently testing out some different core constructions and composite builds. The earliest we would have an early release is sometime in mid-late March. This is not a set in stone date though, so it might be longer before they become available.

Glad you could stop by and hope you like the skis you took out!

Can’t believe I’m just now seeing this thread. I just bought the Bella’s about a month ago and I’m in love. Based on what I read for next season’s Bella, I guess I’m one of the few girls who is bummed that the Bella is returning to a mustache rocker profile. I’m a huge fan of full rocker and kinda sad to see y’all won’t have a full rocker women’s specific ski. But at least I snagged the last pair this season’s Bella’s!

So between the Wildcat 108 and the Kartel 108, which would be more playful? Which would be more chargy?

Kartel is more Portland, Wildcat is more Reno

There will be more public post throughout social and such later today, but in the meantime...

Wildcat 108 Special Pre-order

Every time I see this link I go check the Deathwish Tour page and pray they're sold out so I can lobby for an early Deathwish Tour 112 release, and every time there's still 15 pairs of the old version left. Go buy them people!

Hmm gonna be tough picking between Moment Meridians, Wildcat 108s and Kartel 108s for a new ski 2020. Not a fan of the new Meridian graphic (personally), but the wildcats have charm.

Not too sure if this is the right place to ask but it is moment related. Does anyone have any input on how a wildcat 108 would compare to black ops 118? I love my black ops and want something similar but In a more narrow everyday ski.

I actually do!

I thought that ski wasn't great in tight terrain and turning edge to edge, however I thought it was really sick when you gut it up to speed. The 108 isn't going to feel as damp as the Rossi because of its size, but its pretty damn close. If you're looking for a narrower ski that might be a good direction for you. The only huge difference is the mount point. I like mine a bit farther forward, which would compare better to the Black Ops mount.

The skis are obviously different but from a general perspective they ski similar. The Wildcat 118 (190 length) is also a fairly similar shape and that is what it is based off of.

Sweet thanks for the response. Definitely on the short list for next year!

Chipotle banana basically

picking up a pair of Chipotle's for next season, loved the Meridian 107 for my daily ski this season. They still have some 181 meridian 117's left if you want the shorty banana

Looks great and I’m enjoying it for sure but i don’t see turning radii listed anywhere obvious and that’s a big drawback in my eyes, I like to see them right next to length/tip/waist/tail

Less importantly the Reserve section is the first thing you scroll by when it should kind of be last imo since it’s “fringe” stuff. That’s just like my opinion tho man

The Reserve section is last. So not sure what you're seeing there.

Also, you must be on your cellphone. Once you get to the dimensions swipe left and right. The turn radius is listed plus a lot more than most mfgs. Thanks for the feedback!

yep, i was on mobile. i see the dimensions now and i love that you list more specs like weight etc, that's good shit. i still think it should be more obvious to scroll right to see all the specs but that might just be bad luck regarding my screen size or whatever, idk

i do still see Reserve listed first, see attached pic

as i said, just giving user feedback cause i think you guys are dope and the site is awesome

Hmmm, so that reserve link is pretty far down the page. You scrolled past the header that states "19/20 Collection 'shop now'" and 6 of our most popular "featured skis"

The main navigation is the hamburger in the top right. Click that and it brings you to the list of skis that myself and the other guy on here were talking about where the order is Freestyle, Freeride, etc, etc with Reserve on the bottom.

Thanks again for the input.

gotcha, that makes sense. i just hit the main page (on mobile) and started scrolling. i thought the "...shop now" link might take me to a vendor or something so i went by it

rest assured my comments aren't saying "this is wrong." i'm just passing on my knee jerk reactions as the anonymous lazy consumer perusing the site.

keep up the great work, y'all make me miss squaw even more than usual

Every year the graphics get better and better and the shapes seem to improve. 2 ski quiver 184 wildcat 108 and 190 118 sounds pretty tempting.

Strong possibility this will be my quiver with my old 184 Bibbys getting Tectons.
