Moment Outerwear

Next year i'm looking to get some new outerwear that isn't going to fall apart like my first drop jacket did this year. I've been looking at moment's stuff seeing as they have some pretty ill colors and i've heard rumors that their jackets generally follow a slimmer fit. How does their outwear hold up though? Is it pretty durable?

Two friends of mine both have moment jackets that have held up really well this season. Definitely a tall slim fit. Not fat at all even 2xl. Great stuff all around.

What do your friends say about how warm they are? I ski a lot of park, but being from Vail there's definitely pow days where a warm jacket is a must. But the fact that they're durable is really solid news.

Its not insulated but its a real waterproof shell. One of them rides with just a baselayer and a tee underneath. I generally think that shells are better though, lets you layer to control the warmth.

word shells are actually warmer. i have a super warm puffy jacket and it's freezing when air gets in the sleeves or underneath, you lose all your protection instantly

with a shell you get a lot of nice layers to keep you toasty all the time

i have a moment suit that i got for free. it fits pretty good, one complaint that i have is that one of the pockets of the pants ripped the day i got it, and a kid i know that works there said that it has been a recurring issue. but they are decently warm, i wear a sweatshirt under the jacket most days and im fine.

hm. we ski a lot of tight trees and whatnot and i havent seen either buddies jacket rip at all, regardless of all the branches we catch on.

i'm one of the buddies ben speaks of, and i've had no problems with the jacket at all as far as durability goes. If anybody has any specific questions or anything shoot me a PM and i'll definitely answer you

It was the inside of the pants pocket. I was just skiing and at the end of the day I realized that my keys were in the inside of my pants down by my boots haha. Easy fix but it shouldn't have ripped like that that quick

I've got a Moment suit and I really like it. First day out I ripped my jacket on the bottom, emailed Moment and they send me a new one. Used it on closing weekend (didn't rip) and it held up super good. It's only 15/15k but the fabric didn't get saturated like my friend's FD suit, or Armada suit and even Saga suit. Jacket is a taller slimmer fit like mentioned above. Pants are long, but not wide.

Yeah my firstdrop suit gets somewhat blotchy and saturated when it gets wet and then it looks just silly. This is all really good stuff i'm hearing about them. The fact that they sent you a new jacket is really sick.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting them to give me a new one since it was probably my fault that I ripped the jacket.

moments warranty people are super legit. never dealt with them for outerwear, but have for skis and they hooked it up big time.

What happened? At Jib Academy when my jacket ripped, a guy from the Salomon team said Moment has terrible warranty. I laughed at the irony in that statement.

first batch of bibbys they ever made had a topsheet problem. they sent me new skis before i even knew the old ones had a problem, and hooked it up with some shirts and stickers and stuff since i had to pay to get em remounted. ive never heard anything bad about moment customer service

Yeah i'll be replacing my firstdrop with one of their jackets. i've yet to hear a bad thing about their products. the only thing i might question of theirs is the park skis. i heard they're not that bulletproof

No ski is bulletproof, eventually with enough metal to metal contact, any skis will break down. Moment skis are super fucking fun to ride. I'm not a big fan of rockered park skis, but the Rockers were alright kinda. I still prefer my Reno Jibs.

why? that seems like a huge downgrade.
I got a pair of moment pants about halfway through the season so I probably got about 60 day of skiing with them. In my opinion, they weren't very high quality. All the magnets that hold the pocket flaps down fell out of their little pouches and stuck together, making one bigger magnet in each flap, making it useless. My crotch ripped super easily (I don't sag my pants very much). And they were nowhere near as waterproof as my 4 year old 15k Sessions Jacket.
What I did like about them was the super burly fabric around the cuff and how tough the fabric felt in general.
I wouldn't buy another piece of Moment outerwear unless they change it.

I love all the moment skis I've been on though and they have been super durable in my experience.

Dont do it not hating on moment but Trew as a whole destroys most outerwear companies gear its insane ever since ive had my suit i have never thought of buying outerewear from another company its just so waterproof and this years fit is perfect not wide or long just fairly skinny and fairly long

if you don't fall, you aren't trying hard enough.
I'm just saying that my Moment pants haven't held up as well as Sessions or Oakley pants I've had in the past.

love my jacket. excellent fit. pretty waterproof and nice quality. i have pants as well and really like the setup. also their lineup for next year is really sick
