Moment Frankenski vs ON3P Filthy Rich

I just want to know opinions on either (hands on experience, etc.)... which one is softer? Better Swing weight? Also how is the rocker on each?
 
Both are about the same stiffness, FR has more rocker, about the same swing weight (most symmetrical skis are about the same). Moment durability is hit or miss, ON3Ps are always rock solid. FRs have thicker edges. Both have the same base. Counter sink edge seems sketchy for turning...if it's a pure urban or rail ski (and you don't have to do any major carving to get to and from your park) they'd maybe be ok...but I don't really get how it would work on edge.

I'd go with the FR...the sidecut is more fun, the sidewall/bases/edges are bombproof, and they'll turn way better.
 
Woah, I just did this in paint you were right, basically same skis. Although its only from the catalog so might not be too acurate.

Shop catalogs at this point in the year from small brands tend to be open to minor changes in design if need be.

Moment can't compete with on3p durability, simple as that. I've been riding on3p park skis exclusively since their first year and I will never buy from another brand, they make most other skis seem really inferior.
 
Moment durability is better than you guys are making it sound. yes recently it has gone down a hill a little bit. The frankenskies in particular are a little iffy on durability but not necessarily moment as a whole.
 
I don't think people are saying Moment is terrible, compared to other park skis they're on par...what we're saying is if you compare the two brands durability Moment can't hang.
 
NS just loves to bash Moment for having bad skis yet 99% of the kids on here have probably never ridden them. Instead of the frankenski go with something like the team, vice or jib.
 
The Frankenski has been released and skied maybe half to just over a season? I haven't heard of any issues or complaints on NS whatsoever, I'm calling bullshit.

That being said, you should still buy ON3P :D
 
I wouldn't but the Frankenski just because "Dirty mustache rocker" seems retarded. Camber works because your weight is pushing down on it. With the Frankenski you get two tiny patches of camber which seems ineffective and looks like it would feel extremely awkward to ski.
 
honestly cannot speak for moment but i have a set of ON3P skis and i can honestly say i can't see myself buying anything else as far as quality and durability is concerned. for all i know moment might be up there to though.
 
So it sounds like I will probably get the filthy riches, but one last question... I am 6' 2" and about 230 lbs, will the filthy riches butter easily because i am a bit heavier or are they still going to be stiff, because i want to get a rockered park ski but that can butter easily too

 
I have owned 3 pairs of Moment's (Vice, Tahoe, & PB&J) and two pairs of ON3P's (Jeronimo & Filthy Rich). At the end of the day all were pretty much the same. If you are hard enough on any ski it will break dependent on the condition. Looking at Momen'ts layup and ON3P's layup they are very similar design wise.
 
I think the elliptical sidewall design that ON3P uses is really fun to ride. Super stable when you want, but you can also lay 'em way over and rip tight turns. Also, I have had 3 pairs of ON3Ps in the last 6 years ago or so, and the construction has been bomber.
 
the vice has been a good ski and had held up about the same as my on3p. i will admit i had bad luck with my on3ps and didnt detune them properly and have about 6 inches of edge ripout after 40 days of riding. my moments have about 1 inch of edge ripout underfoot on both skis both sides. The moments have held up really good despite that considering i ski almost every day and almost exclusively rails. the vices are more jump orientated and the filthy riches are more for rails in my opinion. if you ski alot of rails i would go with the 0n3p and jumps i woukd go with the vice. the frankenski is more rail orientated and has a softer flex but it also has 2.2mm edges so it wont hold up on rails as much. i love my vices and filthys however and am going to buy both pairs again next year
