So I saw B.Devine on the hill the other day and we started talking about the ultimate bumps & Jumps. (most of you don't know who B.Devine is, but he rides for 4FRNT) He told me that he was invited but he decided not to go, partly because 4FRNT told him not to go because it involved bumps. He continued to tell me that he felt that moguls were a backward progression of skiing.

Personally, I enjoy skiing bumps and I told B. that I think it's all about skiing what you want to ski. He kind of agreed, but I think that was just to appease me.

Does 4FRNT feel so threatened by moguls that they need to boycott any event that has bumps in it?

4FRNT guys, please clarify before I have to boycott 4FRNT. And please know that I really want to be down with 4FRNT and I'm unhappy to hear this from B. This kind of reeks of the MSP bs. You know, trying to influence people in shady directions out of insecurity and fears...

What do you all think?

 
I think thats sucks for him and 4frnt cuz it was a sick comp there were tons of top names and coverage airs this sunday so they are the ones missin out. Moguls are skiing and i love everything about skiing so bring on the bumps!!

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

yea bumps are fun. I definately wouldn't do em all day, but I usualy go down em once or twice when I'm out at the hill.

so many awesome skiers come from the moguls. To say it is not progression, I feel anything making someone a better skier is progression no matter what.

 
i think the big freeski companies need to take a step back. there tryin to create a ski community based soley on park/bc,ect. they need to realize taht opening up to other things might be good.

moguls are soo hard too... you think its hard throwing a D spin or cork 7 off a table? try throwing it in between moguls and another jump and more moguls with out time for preparation in between. I have even more respect for TJ after hearing he can kill it in moguls, park, BC, pipe... EVERYTHING

 
Moguls are real important to skiing as a sport. Without them, kids will head straight for the park without knowing how to ski blues well..the same shit that plauges snowboarding.....BTW, did anybody see the article about Toby Dawson in the Washington Post. Its pretty cool that in a big metro newspaper, the front cover of the sports section has a huge pick up a guy doing a corked something with rossi scratches..I was stocked to see it..

 
Look at the name of bump competitions. Usually it involves the word 'freestyle' in it somewhere. Its the route of freeskiing as we know it, and to deny bumps is like saying just get on a snowboard.

 
Moguls is where freestyle/freeskiing began. Without them we would prob all be racing or something.

4frnt is obviously threatened by moguls, i mean they're just so bumpy and uuuugh scary i dunno if i was 4frnt id be threatened too, my suggestion- buy a cat real quick and try to take them out before they fuck up the sport of JIBBING

well u ski to have fun right? well so any aspect of skiing that allows u too have fun should be supported... but since 4frnt wants to be a 'core company' they dont wanna have nething to do w/ racing or any aspect of it...

Even if it is true, 4frnt probably just doesn't have a desire to be associated with bumps. They don't make mogul skis, they have no pro mogul skiers...maybe it's just a territory they're staying out of. Doesn't mean they don't respect it or that they're douschebags.

i think 4front just doesn't wanna be associated with anything other than freestyle. u guys would all be ripping them if they made a mogul ski or something. so wutever. i'm glad they don't participate in any bumps. there r enough companies that support it anyway.

And I don't want to hear that I shouldn't boycott 4FRNT because some fan of the brand says I shouldn't, I want to hear what 4FRNT has to say, and sooner or later someone from that company will be on here and read this and then hopefully I'll get an answer from them.

Does the 4FRNT team even have any decent bump skiers, or (bump) skis for that matter? I'm just asking; But if the answer is no to either, I'm not surprised they wouldn't want their product represented.

They guys in bumps and jumps were skiing bumps really well with center mounted skis. They probably weren't true center but definitely not alpine.

 
Well if anyone has any cheap mogul skis for sale I would take them off your hands for the right price...new or used...no bindings please
